196. I Should Look After Myself Better…

Roberto Cavalli196. I Should Look After Myself Better…

I abandoned you… but it was not a lack of love, not at all, I missed you a lot. I decided to be more involved in what is happening right now in Italy and my thoughts are for those of you who suffer because of the tragedies that Italy is going through.

I started writing my thoughts about the Italian situation on Twitter and Facebook… Nothing about fashion! A Roberto Cavalli dedicated to those who need my life experiences…

My post today is dedicated to those of you who love me, I want to feel you close to me. I recently undergone major surgery on the shoulder, for some time I had a sharp pain, my doctor and a radiography led me to go through surgery. Now I find myself with a piece of titanium that joins two bones that were tired of being stuck together – maybe they weren’t in love anymore!

After four days in the hospital with severe pain that alternated from 3 to 8 out of 10 like a rough sea, I decided to go and spend a few days in Panzano, in the heart of Chianti, to visit my son Tommaso and to feel cuddled by my nieces Ester, Sara, Anna and the lovely wife of my son, Dorothy.

Sandra has been with me constantly and without her help I would not be able to do anything. My right arm has to stand still and these days I envy the left-handed!

Now you know why you did not hear from me… is not easy to type on the keyboard of my phone with my swollen and sore hand…

As I begin to feel better… I am having fun with my three angels…

This morning I took a long walk through the vineyards, a light rain refreshed my thoughts… I did not even realize that I was getting completely wet… the sensation was so pleasant… I almost wanted to lie down on the grass… sometimes my quest for emotions has no limits…

From now on I will be back with you…
Un bacino grande and please forgive me if I left you for a few days…

I LOVE YOU
Roberto Cavalli

Sorry to hear about your shoulder. My husband broke his last Fall when his golf cart flipped. He broke his left arm, but he is left-handed, so it was rough. He is pretty much back to normal now, still working to get strength and range back, but with a big metal plate and 10 screws in his arm. I’m glad you had such a lovely place to recuperate with such a nice family!

I am very sorry to hear you have had to undergo major surgery on a shoulder. As you know, chosing the best possible surgeon, as you must have done, is only part of the possible success of any surgery, but especially with a rotator cuff surgery, as it seems you have gone through. The post surgical rehabilitation therapy is almost as important. Knowing you, you are going to want to go back to normal life as soon as you begin feeling better. Hold your horses, please, and think a little bit more about yorself. I had the feeling something was wrong with you, and felt tempted to write a single line post asking if everything was OK, but thought it was not adecuate, since I am not a personal friend of yours. GET BETTER, Mr. Cavalli, and enjoy your lovely family!!!

    Ciao,
    Buona giornata e buona vita!

Secondo me….. torni prima te che Giuseppe Rossi!! Che ne dici? 🙂

Dear Roberto! I’d like to hear from you as much as it only possible, but to my regret sometimes I do not have enough time to to do what i want to do, to be more exact – reading your wonderful stories. It’s great that your are recovering now. I do believe it will take you not that much to start experiencing life in full swing again. I adore the word joie de vivre, at least it’s just the word that forces me to get stuck to when something is going wrong in my surrounding. I am not acquainted with you, but I am sure you are not less buoyent person. There are not that many pictures of you without a smile upon your face. Though it seams to me I happened to guess you are sensitive person to the utmost. Other way you couldn’t have created all that masterpieces. It does not matter what we are talking about – dresses, fabrics, perfumes, furniture, wallpares, oh my God! And so-o-o-…. on! Don’t you think that your book might be called THE REVELATIONS OF A MAN WHO MADE UP HIS MIND TO BE FRANK. I think I would have called the book that way if I had written it. Yes, just that way. So far my best wishes from Ukraine! I love you! Lucy.

    Good day,

I am writing you to receive information/authentication that the leather suit I bought back in the late 1980’s or early 1990’s is in fact, a Roberto Cavalli piece. All is a dark blue leather, accented by snake skin and horse hair. It was purchased for a Miss Texas contestant, size 4. The purchaser had a native american artist from Texas draw on the back of the piece. It is a magnificent piece, and I have kept it in my closet covered with a cloth sheet, taking it out periodically to wear the cape. My curiosity is asking if the piece is an authentic Roberto Cavalli. Would you be so kind as to give me an answer? Thank you for your help, and I will wear in good health.

I cannot locate an email address to send you the pictures I took. Would you please send me an email address that I can forward pictures to? Thank you.

    Dear Roberto,

You inspire me on a daily basis. Your imagination is truely a kaleidoscope of vibrant colours, tones and textures. It seem’s you have the ability to absorb your surroundings, be it in nature or on a busy high street and to transform your observations into the most beautiful , practical designs. To my eye’s I see your work as a total contradiction of which I can only describe as “Complex Simplicity ” – Simple but at the same time Complex and what is most important; Practical and Functional… I feel a designer should wear 3 hats- the hats of an Artist, a Designer and an Engineer. Things should not only look good but they should also work in a practical way and all of your designs achieve this goal.
There are many famous “Fashion” designers but I prefer to think of you as just a designer without the word “fashion” because you have the wonderful ability to transform all of your ideas into beautiful and practical products from a teapot to a suit of fine clothes.
Your work is born of a passionate heart filled with love for the world you live in and the people who share your world – I hope you will continue to inspire for many years to come… the world and its people need you because you put
    beauty into grey skies.

    Peppino
