167. New Boutique in New Delhi…

Finally came the long-awaited moment of the ribbon cutting for the new boutique in New Delhi, the first in India. The second will be in Mumbai and the opening is scheduled for September 2013.

India is an important country for the Cavalli fashion house. During my stay on this recent trip I felt so much respect and love for Roberto Cavalli!

I am sure I will receive a warm welcome also in Mumbai and Bollywood stars will appreciate my fashion!

I arrived at the mall for the inauguration of the new boutique accompanied by Sonam Kapoor, one of the most fascinating and famous Indian actresses, who wore a Cavalli dress.

Dozens of photographers and cameramen were waiting for me. I managed to make my way through the hundreds of invited guests and onlookers gathered for the event…

Finally… in the boutique!… I can hardly walk … everyone wants to have a picture taken with me… so many flashes… a smile for everyone…

I accompany the journalists and broadcasters as they experience the boutique and the Cavalli Cafe!

I’m delighted with what we have achieved starting from our inspiration of the Cavalli Cafe in Florence. A coffee shop that is also able to offer a good light lunch is always in high demand.

Champagne, lots of Champagne to wish lots of success!

To end the day and celebrate the grand opening, we host a fabulous dinner in one of the best restaurants in New Delhi.

More than a hundred guests, the most beautiful and glamorous clients! At my table sat my entourage and many beautiful Indian actresses. The dinner was elaborate. It was only the brilliance of the company that kept the jet lag at bay.

During the after-party I had to interrupt an Indian group playing beautiful music with traditional instruments, to make a brief speech to thank everybody…

My experience in India is about to end. From tomorrow I would like to spend some time to indulge my passion for photography, I want to take many beautiful photos…

167. Nuova Boutique a New Delhi…

Finalmente è arrivato il tanto atteso momento taglio del nastro della nuova boutique di New Delhi, la prima in India. La seconda sarà a Mumbai e l’inaugurazione è prevista per Settembre 2013.

L’India è paese importante per la maison Cavalli. Durante la mia permanenza in questo recente viaggio ho percepito tanta stima e amore per Roberto Cavalli!

Sono sicuro che riceverò una calorosa accoglienza anche a Mumbai, le star di Bollywood apprezzeranno la mia moda!

Sono arrivato al mall per l’inaugurazione della nuova boutique accompagnato da Sonam Kapoor, una delle più affascinanti e famose attrici Indiane, che indossava un abito Cavalli.

Decine di fotografi e cineoperatori mi aspettavano. Sono riuscito a farmi strada fra le centinaia di invitati e curiosi intervenuti per l’evento…

Finalmente nella boutique! Mi è difficile camminare… tutti vogliono una foto con me… tanti flash… un sorriso per tutti…

Ho accompagnato i giornalisti e le televisioni a visitare la boutique e il Cavalli Caffè!

Sono soddisfatto di ciò che abbiamo realizzato partendo dall’idea del Caffè Cavalli di Firenze. Molte boutique desiderano avere un Caffè che sia anche in grado di offrire un buon light lunch!

Champagne, tanto Champagne per augurare tanto successo!

Per terminare la giornata e festeggiare l’inaugurazione della boutique abbiamo organizzato una cena favolosa in uno dei migliori ristoranti di New Delhi.

Più di cento invitati, le più belle e facoltose clienti. Al mio tavolo, insieme al mio entourage, ero in compagnia di tante bellissime attrici Indiane. La cena è stata meravigliosa. La buona compagnia mi ha permesso di tenere a bada il Jet Lag che incominciava a farsi sentire.

Durante l’after-party ho dovuto interrotto un gruppo Indiano che suonava una bella musica con strumenti tipici Indiani, per un breve discorso di ringraziamento…

La mia esperienza Indiana sta per finire. Da domani vorrei dedicare un po’ di tempo alla mia passione per la fotografia, voglio fare tante belle foto…

One of the most prestigious families in New Delhi hosted a dinner in my honor in a dream home!

The special surprise was that each guest had to wear traditional Indian dress with the ladies in saris, so colorful, embroidered and imaginative! I could be a good sari designer…I love them very much and, although they cover most of the female body, I find them very sexy!

Manav, the Indian gentleman who has given me his trust by opening this beautiful boutique in New Delhi, is also a talented sari designer. In the afternoon he took us into his boutique to choose a special dress for the evening.

Cristiana, after trying on different saris has chosen a green sari, the same color as that chosen by her husband Francesco for his long jacket and pants. My friend, who accompanied me on this journey, has chosen a long black sari with light gold embroidery, very chic, not dissimilar to an elegant western style evening dress.

For me the choice was unanimous, a long black Nehru jacket with a stiff embroidered collar. I felt like an elegant Indian, so privileged to have been invited to dress this way.

I was thrilled when I found myself in front of a vast green lawn with a central large statue of a female head, a sculpture by a renowned Indian artist, a work of inestimable value!

The hosts, owners of much wonder, greet me and are excited to meet me. Mutual emotion! I could not be more spontaneous. I looked around as a shy boy in front of one of the seven wonders!

A continuous fashion show of beautiful ladies in colorful saris, all gorgeous… all ages… all super special… wonderful… I was ecstatic! I can assure you that it is not easy to make me feel these emotions!

I did not know where to look next. Each lady handed me a smile… black eyes, mysterious, bewitched me and my eyes were smitten by the fantastic colors of the saris… pink… turquoise… blue… green…

So many ideas for my next collection… I was really conquered!

The queen paid me so many compliments on my art in fashion… The beautiful home owner took me by the hand and showed me every corner of this magnificent mansion! She explained the wonderful paintings, the best of Indian arts!

We sat at a large table, expertly set with gold chargers, many colorful flowers and a light that created a warm and special atmosphere as the flames of the many candles lit up the room!

I have really tried to convey all my feeling of this incredible evening…

My life is wonderful and you are my “complici”…

Roberto Cavalli 166. Serata Indiana, Indimenticabile!

Una delle famiglie più ricche di New Delhi ha organizzato una cena in mio onore in una casa da sogno !

La sorpresa più particolare è stata che ogni invitato doveva indossare il tradizionale abito Indiano, il sari per le signore, coloratissimo, ricamatissimo e ricco di fantasia. Io avrei potuto essere un bravo designer di sari, li amo tantissimo e, anche se coprono tanto il corpo femminile, li trovo molto sexy!

Manav, il carinissimo Indiano che mi ha accordato la sua fiducia aprendo la bella boutique a New Delhi, è anche un bravo designer di sari. Nel pomeriggio ci ha accompagnato nella sua boutique per scegliere un abito speciale per la serata.

Cristiana dopo varie prove ha scelto un sari verde acqua, ugual colore per una giacca lunga e pantaloni per Francesco. La mia amica, che mi ha accompagnato nel viaggio, ha scelto un lungo sari nero con leggeri ricami in oro, molto chic, non tanto dissimile da un bell’abito da sera di gusto occidentale.

Per me la scelta è stata unanime, una giacca lunga nera con un collo rigido ricamato. Mi sono sentito un Indiano elegantissimo, mi mancava il turbante per apparire perfetto!

Mi sono emozionato, quando mi sono trovato davanti ad un grande prato verde con al centro una grande statua raffigurante una testa femminile, opera del più grande artista indiano, un opera dal valore inestimabile!

I padroni di casa, proprietari di tanta meraviglia, mi sono venuti incontro emozionati di conoscermi. Un’emozione reciproca! Non riuscivo ad essere spontaneo. Mi guardavo intorno come un ragazzo timido davanti ad una delle sette meraviglie!

Un défilé continuo di belle signore in sari coloratissimi, tutte bellissime, giovani, meno giovani, tutte super speciali, meravigliose… ero estasiato! Vi posso garantire che non è facile farmi provare tali emozioni!

Non sapevo più dove posare il mio sguardo. Ogni signora mi porgeva un sorriso… gli occhi neri, misteriosi, mi ammaliavano e il mio sguardo era conquistato dai fantastici colori dei sari… rosa… turchese… blu… verde…

Così tante idee per la prossima collezione… ne ero veramente conquistato!

La regina mi ha fatto tanti complimenti per la mia arte nella moda… La bellissima padrona di casa mi ha preso per mano e mi ha mostrato ogni angolo di questa meravigliosa dimora! Mi ha illustrato i meravigliosi dipinti, il meglio dell’arte Indiana!

Ci siamo accomodati in una grande tavola, sapientemente apparecchiata con sottopiatti in oro, tanti fiori coloratissimi e una luce che creava una atmosfera calda e particolare come le fiamme delle tantissime candele che illuminavano l’ambiente!

Spero di avervi trasferito ogni mia sensazione di questa incredibile serata…

La mia vita è meravigliosa e voi siete i miei complici…

Before starting again to talk about the book I’m writing, I want you, who follow my Blog, to be closer to me with your thoughts, tell me what are the stories that matter most to you, the ones that you like and bind you more.

Sometimes I am afraid of boring you. I want you as friends, I want you to know everything that goes on inside my head… my thoughts… my principles… my uneasiness…

In one of my last posts I expressed my ideas on a political fact that held Italy in suspense, waiting for an important result. I was nervous too, feeling the very hardships that my Italy is suffering! It’s a problem that I feel so keenly that I would sacrifice my life if I knew I could solve the problems of so many…

Do you want to know from me only about the days I spend in fashion? Most of the time I spend is at my desk, drawing… thinking… browsing… I have not much to tell you! Then, in the evening, before going to sleep, not wishing to describe the mundane matters of my day, in which you might have no interest, or the meetings of the board of directors, I am instead talking about myself… of my thoughts… of all that has grown up with me and made me who I am!

Roberto Cavalli I think, to better understand me, to be able to find an opening to get into my head, you should know my life. A long life so full of adventures that the few friends to whom I have read my memoirs, have asked me “but is it all true…?”

I think I’ve lived a thousand years, my experience and my desire to know… to live… maybe goes beyond two thousand years!

I’ve never sought success as such, it is as though success needed me. I like to create, to be different… to invent… for the great pleasure of seeing the results. I’ve never worked, lived or created to make money. The gain is a result that gives you the size of how you are working. If your time is well spent or is wasted!

There have been times when I have wished that everything I did and made in fashion had gone unnoticed. Success becomes addictive… it binds you… it is never enough. It can ruin the sound principles that your family has taught you and impacts upon the family that you have created with love!

I was lucky enough not to have had success in my youth, my age and my wisdom helped me to not succumb completely!

I feel sorry for the many young people, young singers for example, who manage to gain the crowds! I wonder what will be the result of this on the rest of their lives.

My book, “MY ADVENTURE” will let you know Roberto Cavalli, for many of you a myth…

Roberto Cavalli with Lupo 164. La Mia Vita Continua…

Prima di rincominciare a parlarvi del libro che sto scrivendo, desidero sapere da voi che mi seguite attraverso il Blog per essere vicini a me con i vostri pensieri, quali sono i racconti che v’interessano maggiormente, che vi piacciono e che vi avvincono di più.

Talvolta ho timore di annoiarvi, ma se vi desidero come amici, mi piace che conosciate tutto ciò che gira dentro la mia testa… pensieri… principi… turbamenti…

In uno dei miei ultimi post ho espresso le mie idee su un fatto politico che ha tenuto l’Italia in suspense, in attesa di un importante risultato. Ero nervoso anch’io, percepisco molto le traversie che la mia Italia sta subendo! È un problema che sento a tal punto, che sacrificherei la vita, se sapessi di poter risolvere i problemi di tanti…

Desiderate conoscere da me esclusivamente le giornate che dedico alla moda? Molte le trascorro alla mia scrivania a disegnare… pensare… sfogliare… non ho molto da raccontarvi! Quindi, la sera, prima di addormentarmi, non potendovi descrivere la mia giornata, per voi poco interessante, o le problematiche di un consiglio di amministrazione vi parlo di me… dei miei pensieri… di tutto ciò che è cresciuto con me!

Roberto Cavalli Credo, che per capirmi, per poter trovare un varco per entrare nella mia testa, dovreste conoscere la mia vita. Una lunga vita piena di avventure, al punto tale che, ai pochi amici a quali ho fatto leggere le mie memorie, mi hanno chiesto “ma, è tutto vero…?”

Credo di aver vissuto mille anni, forse la mia esperienza, il mio desiderio di conoscere… di vivere… va oltre i due mila anni!

Non ho mai cercato il successo, è stato il successo che ha avuto bisogno di me. Mi è piaciuto creare, essere diverso… inventare… per il gran piacere di vedere il risultato. Non ho mai lavorato, creato o vissuto per guadagnare. Il guadagno è il risultato che ti da la dimensione di come stai operando. Se il tuo tempo è speso bene o e sprecatoooooo!

Avrei desiderato che tutto ciò che ho fatto e realizzato per la moda fosse passato inosservato. Il successo diventa una droga, che ti avvince e non basta mai. Rovina i sani principi che la tua famiglia ti ha trasmesso e rovina la famiglia che hai creato con amore e unione!

Ho avuto la fortuna di non aver avuto il mio successo in gioventù, la mia età e la mia saggezza mi hanno aiutato a non soccombere completamente!

Tanti giovani, giovanissimi, cantanti che riescono a conquistare le folle mi fanno pena! Immagino quale sarà il seguito della loro vita.

Il mio libro, “LA MIA AVVENTURA” vi farà conoscere Roberto Cavalli, per molti di voi un mito…
