I’m eighteen… I’m young… I’m in love with Silvanella… she fills all my dreams…

Finally I find the courage and in the most obvious and ridiculous way I pay a compliment to her dog… she smiles… incredibly I am not stuttering anymore. I ask her name… we speak, timidly, and the words come out spontaneously… light as feathers…

I look at her and I smile, I’m happy, it’s all new to me. Until then girls have filled my head with a thousand thoughts… now it’s different. When I look at her I have an unexpected feeling… I’m in love…

Silvanella becomes the girl of my dreams. Our date, the first one, is on a Sunday in a church on the Lungarno. The first kiss comes only after months of walking, shared confidences and small complicities.

Summer is coming and she leaves for her holidays at the seaside… I don’t have much money but with my small savings I buy a kind of American military tent at the market in San Lorenzo and hitchhike to meet Silvanella at the seaside…

I settle on the beach, I put up the tent and then, tired from the trip, I fall asleep… I wake up the next morning under a blazing sun, I have not rested much… but I’m too much in love and so nothing can stop me…

I can see Silvanella only from a distance and we can only talk in secret. Only after a couple of days does she manage to convince her mother to let her out for a couple of hours after dinner. We go to a concert… Peppino di Capri… and, to the sound of “Nun è peccato”, our lips touch. This kiss is completely different from anything I have experienced before. It is the realization of a dream…

Then everything becomes difficult. I’m not a straight A student, I don’t attend university… Silvanella’s parents put obstacles in the way of our love…

But I want to direct my life, I want to be the conductor of my dreams. I need to prove to everyone, and especially to myself, what I can do. I’m sure I’ll make it…

I want to bring back the smile to my mother when she speaks about me…
I want everyone to feel proud of me, and so my big adventure begins…

391. Ricordi di un’estate di qualche anno fa…

Ho diciotto anni, sono giovane e innamorato e Silvanella è la titolare di tutti i miei sogni…

Finalmente trovo il coraggio, e nel modo più̀ ovvio e ridicolo faccio un complimento al suo cane… lei sorride… incredibilmente non balbetto più̀. Le chiedo il nome… parliamo, timidamente, e le parole mi escono leggere… spontanee…

La guardo e sorrido, sono felice, è tutto nuovo per me, sino a quel momento le ragazze hanno riempito la mia testa di mille pensieri… ora è diverso. La guardo e provo un sentimento inaspettato… sono innamorato…

Silvanella diventa la ragazza dei miei sogni. Il nostro appuntamento, il primo, è di domenica in una chiesetta sul Lungarno. Il primo bacio arriva solo dopo mesi di passeggiate, confidenze e piccole complicità̀.

Arriva l’estate e lei parte per il mare… Io non ho grandi possibilità̀ economiche e con i pochi soldi racimolati compro una specie di tenda militare americana al mercatino di San Lorenzo e raggiungo Silvanella al mare in autostop…

Mi sistemo sulla spiaggia, monto la tenda e poi, stanco per il viaggio, mi addormento… Mi sveglio la mattina successiva sotto un sole cocente, non mi sono riposato granché́… ma sono troppo innamorato perché́ qualcosa possa fermarmi…

Riesco a vedere Silvanella solo da lontano e ci possiamo parlare solo di nascosto. Soltanto dopo un paio di giorni lei riesce a convincere la madre a farla uscire un paio d’ore dopo cena.
Andiamo a un concerto di Peppino di Capri, e al suono di “Nun è peccato” riesco ad avvicinare le mie labbra alle sue. Non è una conquista come le altre, è la realizzazione di un sogno…

Poi tutto diventa difficile. Non sono uno studente modello, non vado all’università̀… i genitori di Silvanella ostacolano il nostro amore…

Voglio dirigere la mia vita, voglio essere il direttore d’orchestra dei miei sogni. Ho bisogno di dimostrare a tutti, e soprattutto a me stesso, di cosa sono capace. Sono sicuro che ce la farò…

Desidero far tornare il sorriso alla mamma quando parla di me…
voglio che tutti si sentano orgogliosi di me, e così iniziò la mia grande avventura…

Nature is the source of my inspiration. I cannot tell you this too often. That is how important Nature is to me and can be for you. Those fantastic colours that make the butterflies so distinctive and so perfectly suit the texture of their wings are an essential part of their elegance. To such an extent is this true that a special paint has been developed to help us realize this effect in art and fashion.

I discovered this special paint, quite by accident, several years ago and I fell in love… it’s a paint that changes colour depending on the incidence of the light rays that strike the surface. This is possible thanks to the micro-prisms in the paint itself.

The very same mechanism of refraction of light is used by some butterflies to make the colours of their wings so incredibly elegant and attractive…

I started experimenting with this paint in every possible way… the first item was a cell phone, the Motorola StarTAC and then the helicopter. This was followed by the mega yacht RC and then the Smart car I use for short trips around Florence…

So when my son Tommaso and I decided to create a special limited edition of my Vodka we immediately thought of creating a bottle that would be singular and unique in a design that would incorporate this system of colouring. Thus the CHAMELEON EDITION was born.

La natura è la mia fonte d’ispirazione. Ve lo continuo a ripetere, la natura ricopre un ruolo così importante nelle nostre vite… Quei fantastici colori che rendono le farfalle così speciali, i colori delle loro ali le rendono così eleganti. La tecnica usata dalle farfalle nei colori delle ali ha fornito i dettagli tecnici per la realizzazione di una vernice dalle caratteristiche uniche…

Ho scoperto, quasi per caso, questa speciale vernice diversi anni fa e me ne sono subito innamorato… si tratta di una vernice che cambia colore a seconda dell’incidenza dei raggi di luce che ne colpiscono la superfice. Questo effetto è possibile grazie a dei micro-prismi contenuti nella vernice stessa.

Lo stesso meccanismo di rifrazione della luce viene utilizzato da alcune farfalle per rendere i colori delle loro ali così incredibilmente eleganti e attraenti…

Ho iniziato a usare questa vernice in ogni modo possibile… il primo oggetto è stato un telefono cellulare, lo StarTAC della Motorola poi l’elicottero seguito dal mega yacht RC e poi la mia Smart che uso per i brevi spostamenti a Firenze…

Così quando insieme a mio figlio Tommaso abbiamo deciso di creare un’edizione speciale, in serie limitata, della mia Vodka abbiamo subito pensato a creare un design unico e speciale attraverso l’uso di una colorazione unica. Ed è così che è nata la CHAMELEON EDITION.

I decided to deepen my knowledge of this ancient country and learn a little more Swedish…

The origins of the Swedish people go back to the Stone Age and beyond. Their relationship with nature comes from a well-established friendship over the centuries.

I really like the respect the Swedes have for nature. Here they created the first European national park way back in 1909. Nature is grateful and repays them with rich vegetation and a rich and abundant Sea.

The climate is pleasant thanks to the warming influences of the Gulf Stream. Although Sweden is very close to the Arctic Circle, the average temperatures are well above what you would expect at this latitude.

At this time of year the days here are long… eighteen hours of daylight with the sun rising at 3:30am and setting at 10:30pm…The light here is different from that you find in the Mediterranean and so you are introduced to a different palette of colours.

What I admire about Sweden is its economic liberalism… the quest for justice… socialism… democracy… environmental consciousness… social equality and their neutrality in international disputes…

Here I fell in love with one of its many fantastic islands… a piece of heaven… the perfect place for a relaxing time…

I rediscovered the pleasure of fishing… surrounded by beautiful nature… almost surreal silence broken only by the rustling of leaves caressed by the breeze or the sounds of a mysterious animal, out of sight, that communicates with his fellows…

Fishing has the power to stop the course of time… the seconds become minutes and minute hours… how many thoughts go through my mind… how many ideas… inspiration grows inside me…

I wish to have you all here… near me… everyone gathered in its own thoughts… all together… a meditative moment…

388. Svezia, una moderna e antichissima terra…

Ho deciso di approfondire la mia conoscenza di quest’antichissimo paese e migliorare la mia conoscenza dello svedese…

Le origini del popolo svedese risalgono all’età della pietra. Il loro rapporto con la natura nasce da un profondo legame instaurato nel corso dei secoli.

Mi piace molto il rispetto che gli svedesi hanno per la natura. Qui fu creato il primo parco nazionale europeo nel lontano 1909. La natura ne è riconoscente e li ricompensa con una folta vegetazione e un mare ricco e pescoso.

La temperatura è piacevolmente mite grazie al Gulf Stream. Malgrado la Svezia sia molto vicina al circolo polare artico, le temperature medie sono ben al di sopra di quelle che ci si aspetterebbe a questa latitudine.

In questo periodo dell’anno qui le giornate sono lunghissime con ben diciotto ore di luce con il sole che sorge alle 3:30 e tramonta alle 22:30… La luce qui è diverso da quello si trova nel Mediterraneo, ci si trova di fronte a una diversa tavolozza di colori.

Della Svezia ammiro il liberalismo economico… la ricerca di giustizia del socialismo… la democrazia… la coscienza ambientale… l’uguaglianza sociale e la neutralità in ambito internazionale…

Qui ho scoperto un’isola fantastica di cui mi sono innamorato… un angolo di paradiso… il luogo ideale per un completo relax…

Ho riscoperto il piacere di pescare… circondato da una natura incontaminata… in un silenzio quasi surreale interrotto soltanto dal fruscio delle foglie accarezzate dalla brezza o da qualche misterioso animale che comunica con i suoi simili…

La pesca ha il potere di fermare il tempo, i secondi diventano minuti e i minuti ore… quanti pensieri attraversano la mia mente… quante idee… l’ispirazione nasce anche così…

Vorrei avervi tutti qui… vicino a me… ognuno raccolto nei propri pensieri… tutti insieme in una grande pausa… un momento meditativo…
