244. A week long birthday…

Thank you! Thank you all for the wonderful greetings! Thanks to Cristiana , Rachela, Tommy , Daniele and Robert for the beautiful surprise post…!

The birthday celebrations are meant to last a week…! They started with cake and candles in Milan and then another cake and candles in Florence and now I’m leaving for the Principality of Monaco where I shall spend a few days with my children and my angels, my grandchildren…

I wish I could stop time and freeze these moments… my family… my closest friends… wonderful moments spent with all of you… so precious… so fleeting…

I am one year older, a year full of events and great memories… the publication of my autobiography… the new collections… my “baby” Just Cavalli, thanks to my loving care, shines again…

I love my job… and I thank God for the continuing inspiration His Creation gives me…

244. Un compleanno lungo una settimana…

Grazie! Grazie a tutti voi per i fantastici auguri che mi avete inviato! Grazie a Cristiana, Rachele, Tommy, Daniele e Robert per il bellissimo post a sorpresa…!

Anche quest’anno i festeggiamenti per il compleanno sono destinati a durare una settimana…! Sono iniziati con torta e candeline a Milano poi un’altra torta e candeline a Firenze e ora sono in partenza per il Principato di Monaco dove trascorrerò qualche giorno in compagnia dei miei figli e dei miei angeli, i miei nipotini…

Vorrei poter fermare il corso del tempo e fermare questi momenti… la mia famiglia… I miei amici più cari… momenti meravigliosi passati insieme a tutti voi… così preziosi… così fugaci…

Ho un anno in più, un anno pieno di eventi e bellissime memorie… la pubblicazione del mio libro autobiografico… le nuove collezioni… il mio “bambino” Just Cavalli che grazie alle mie amorose cure è tornato a risplendere…

Amo il mio lavoro… e ringrazio Dio per la continua ispirazione che continua a darmi attraverso il creato…

Today, just today, we would like to write on this blog! Today is a special day, because today is the birthday of a special Dad… HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD!!!

Dear Dad, you have filled and you are filling the lives of all of us… all the endless things I would like to say here… so many emotions you have passed on to me… an indelible memory is of our summers spent on the boat, I was very small and you Tommy and I felt invincible and carefree with our little boat… our adventures… discovering the world…. I would like to convey the same feeling to my little Gabriele… and that time, when we flew to Austria by helicopter, over the snow-capped Alps… we almost got lost. Also, working together… how many challenges to overcome… but how many emotions…

Oggi, ma solo oggi, scriviamo noi su questo blog! Oggi è un giorno speciale, perché oggi è il compleanno di un Babbo speciale… TANTI AUGURI BABBO!!!

Caro Babbo, hai riempito e stai riempiendo la vita di tutti noi…fra tutte le infinite cose che vorrei qui dire… quante emozioni mi hai trasmesso… un ricordo indelebile è sicuramente quello delle nostre estati in barca; ero molto piccola ed io te e Tommy con la nostra barchetta ci sentivamo invincibili e spensierati, all’avventura, alla scoperta del mondo…. vorrei far provare presto al mio Gabrielino quelle emozioni… e quando abbiamo sorvolato io e te le alpi innevate in elicottero per l’Austria… per poco non ci perdevamo… anche la stessa esperienza lavorativa insieme… quante dure prove da superare… ma quante emozioni…

Roberto Cavalli 242. Home Sweet Home…

After my tour around the world I am back in Italy. Although I feel myself to be a “citizen of the world” to return to Italy is to come home…

Those of you who follow the political events in Italy, as I do, can only shake your heads in disappointment… but I’m optimistic and I know that we Italians are able to revive our great country… this time the path is uphill, a long climb… but when we reach the top, the view of the horizon will allow us to see our future more clearly…

When I’m abroad I am proud to be Italian…! Proud of the history and traditions of this country still visible in the mists of time…

This week I’ll be in Milan for a series of meetings… you can feel that General Winter is here… you can already sense the Christmas spirit… this year, like every year, I can’t wait to gather together the great mega-Cavalli-family and devote myself to my grandchildren, my angels…

The jet-lag keeps me awake at unreasonable hours… I take this opportunity to scroll through the pictures I took in Brazil and China… two countries so diverse… both with hills to climb… both also with fascinating future…

This week there will be the inauguration of the Cavalli Restaurant & Lounge in Miami… an event not to be missed…

242. Casa Dolce Casa…

Dopo il mio giro del mondo sono rientrato in Italia, anche se mi sento “cittadino del mondo” rientrare in Italia è ritornare a casa…

Chi di voi, come me, segue l’andamento degli eventi politici del nostro paese non può che scuotere la testa in segno di disappunto… ma io sono ottimista e so che noi Italiani siamo in grado di risollevare questo nostro grande paese… questa volta il percorso è in salita, una lunga salita… ma una volta raggiunta la sommità, la visione dell’orizzonte ci permetterà di vedere con maggiore chiarezza il nostro futuro…

Quando mi trovo all’estero mi sento orgoglioso di essere Italiano…! Orgoglioso della storia e delle tradizioni di questo paese che si perdono nella notte dei tempi…

Questa settimana sarò a Milano per una serie di appuntamenti… il Generale Inverno si fa sentire e nell’aria si assapora già l’atmosfera del Natale… anche quest’anno non vedo l’ora di riunire la grande mega-famiglia-Cavalli e dedicarmi interamente ai mie nipotini, i miei angeli…

Il jet-lag mi tiene sveglio in orari improponibili… ne approfitto per scorrere le foto che ho scattato in Brasile e in Cina… due paesi così diversi… entrambi con i loro rispettivi percorsi in salita… entrambi con un affascinante futuro…

Questa settimana ci sarà anche l’inaugurazione del Cavalli Restaurant & Lounge a Miami… un evento da non perdere…
