110. Porto Cervo is Committing Suicide…

This morning, before leaving the harbor, I went to the harbormaster to pay for mooring my boat for one night. 975 Euros to moor my boat for just one night in Porto Cervo!

Only the day before I spent 220 Euros to moor my boat for a night at Bonifacio. I took on a full tank of diesel. In Bonifacio it costs 1 Euro and 40 cents per liter. Bonifacio is just 20 minutes away from Sardinia…

I paid for two aperitifs in the square of Porto Cervo 75 Euros… I paid 18 Euros for two aperitifs in Bonifacio!

Corsica - Sardegna I stop for a swim in Budelli, a bay near the island of La Maddalena… three minutes later a boat arrives and makes us pay 200 Euros for stopping there since all over the north of Sardinia is a National Park! The day before I stopped to have a swim at Piana island, the southernmost tip of Corsica. The sea is like a huge swimming pool with water of an indescribable color… it is a National Park of Corsica… you pay nothing!

Not to mention the hotels… don’t dare go to Cala di Volpe… you pay a fortune and receive bad service…

The Billionaire is the biggest rip-off… it lives off memories… The current management of the restaurant is incredibly bad and everything is very expensive…

CONCLUSION: how can you fight the crisis by driving away the tourists?

I have a boutique in Porto Cervo square… a wilderness area! We need a new overall economic approach if businesses are to survive…

110. Porto Cervo si sta Suicidando…

Questa mattina, prima di uscire dal porto, sono andato in capitaneria per pagare l’ormeggio di una notte.
Ho pagato 975 Euro per l’ormeggio di una notte a Porto Cervo!

Il giorno prima a Bonifacio per l’ormeggio di una notte ho pagato 220 Euro. Ho fatto il pieno di carburante a Bonifacio e il gasolio costa 1 Euro e 40 centesimi. Bonifacio si trova a soli 20 minuti di distanza dalla Sardegna…

Ho pagato per due aperitivi nella piazzetta di Porto Cervo 75 Euro… mentre a Bonifacio per due aperitivi ho pagato 18 Euro!

Corsica - Sardegna Mi sono fermato a fare il bagno a Budelli, un’insenatura vicino all’isola della Maddalena e dopo tre minuti è arrivato un gommone e ho pagato 200 Euro per la sosta essendo tutto il nord della Sardegna Parco Nazionale! Il giorno prima mi sono fermato a fare il bagno all’isola Piana, la punta estrema della Corsica, una enorme piscina con l’acqua di un colore indescrivibile, Parco Nazionale Corso, ma non si paga niente!

Senza contare gli Hotels… non vi azzardate ad andare a Cala di Volpe… si paga una fortuna per un pessimo servizio…

Il Billionaire e la più grande fregatura… ormai vive solo di ricordi… L’attuale gestione del ristorante è pessima e incredibilmente cara…

CONCLUSIONE: come si può combattere la crisi prendendo in giro i turisti?

Ho una boutique nella piazzetta a Porto Cervo, deserto completo! Dobbiamo avere un approccio diverso se vogliamo permettere alle imprese di sopravvivere…

ANCHE I RICCHI PIANGONO… QUANDO SI SENTONO SFRUTTATI!

109. A Long Weekend…

I needed a long weekend to recharge the batteries of my imagination.

I have completed the pre-collection of ROBERTO CAVALLI and JUST CAVALLI for summer 2013.

I am very pleased, more than at other times. I have earned a short vacation for myself, a little adventure at sea with my Bat-Zodiac!

I spent one night in Stintino, a delicious and authentic fishing port, located in the western part of Sardinia. After a sunny day at Piana island I decide to spend another night in Bonifacio, I could live there for the rest of my life!

Last night I spent at anchor in a beautiful cove off the island of La Maddalena. An eventful night… the wind turns again… and again… and again… three times, sirocco… mistral… then sirocco again. The wind is blowing at a good twenty knots… I cannot sleep in peace!

I set the alarm to ring every hour so that I can check if the anchor is doing its duty and is holding fast. With a wind like this there is a risk that the anchor can begin to plow and it is not difficult to find yourself on the rocks! I am a seaman. I have to anticipate and prevent such a risk… or else… “Bye Holidays”!

I awake… the wind is growing stronger… I decide to take refuge in Porto Cervo. It is always fascinating to get to this jewel of the Emerald Coast! This is just the beginning of July but I did not expect to find the port so empty. It is not easy to moor… the wind is slamming me from all sides.

A refreshing shower and I go to greet the young ladies who work in my Boutique. Pessimism mixed with boredom… is the expression in the eyes of each of them.

The crisis, so much publicized, keeps away the tourists who were planning holidays on the Emerald Coast!
All this is self-vindicating and makes us sink deeper into a crisis! There are better ways. Does a cat try to bite its tail?

The Emerald Coast is the holiday destination of the rich, or those who are simply hoping to see some Star or the rich and famous!

This is the world we live in. Television is a wonderful invention but often it is not used in the right way, as when it makes the realization of young dreams seem impossible…

109. Un Lungo Fine Settimana…

Avevo bisogno di un lungo fine settimana per ricaricare le batterie della mia fantasia.

Ho appena finito le pre-collezioni di ROBERTO CAVALLI e JUST CAVALLI per l’estate 2013.

Sono molto soddisfatto, più di altre volte. Devo regalarmi una piccola vacanza, un po’ di avventura di mare con il mio Batgommone!

Passo una notte a Stintino, un delizioso e genuino porticciolo di pescatori, situato nella parte ovest della Sardegna. Dopo una giornata di pieno sole all’isola Piana ho deciso di trascorrere un’altra serata a Bonifacio, ci abiterei tutta la vita!

Ieri notte l’ho passata in rada in una bella insenatura dell’isola della Maddalena. È stata una notte avventurosa, il vento ha girato tre volte, scirocco, maestrale e di nuovo scirocco. Il vento soffiava a venti nodi e non mi ha fatto dormire tranquillo!

Ho messo la sveglia ad ogni ora per controllare se l’ancora faceva il suo dovere. Con un vento simile c’è il rischio che l’ancora cominci ad arare e non è difficile ritrovarsi contro gli scogli! Sono un lupo di mare e devo prevenire ogni rischio, altrimenti…”addio vacanze”!

Al mio risveglio il vento aumentava di forza e ho quindi deciso di rifugiarmi a Porto Cervo. È sempre affascinante arrivare in questa perla della Costa Smeralda! Siamo solo agli inizi di Luglio ma non mi sarei mai aspettato di vedere il porto così vuoto. Non è stato facile ormeggiare con il vento che mi sbatteva da tutte le parti.

Una doccia rinfrescante e sono andato a salutare le ragazze che lavorano nella mia Boutique.
Pessimismo misto a noia… era l’espressione negli occhi di ognuna di loro.

La crisi così tanto pubblicizzata tiene lontano gli stranieri che avevano programmato le vacanze in Costa Smeralda!
Tutto questo ci fa sprofondare in una crisi sempre più profonda! Non ci sono altri sistemi, è un gatto che cerca di mordersi la coda!

La costa Smeralda è la destinazione delle vacanze dei ricchi, o di coloro che ci vengono semplicemente con la speranza di vedere qualche Star o un ricco famoso!

Questo è il mondo in cui viviamo. La televisione è una meravigliosa invenzione ma spesso non è utilizzata nella giusta maniera! Ha contribuito a illudere i giovani con sogni a volte irrealizzabili…

What a banal name for a fertile imagination like mine… I have to tell you how this line and brand was born.

Art is in my DNA. I was born in Florence and I have breathed art ever since! Right from my very first creations my style developed from desire to make art! My first collection, my first presentation, were like a “vernissage”… a private preview… drawings… color…

The woman for me was “una bella cornice” for my work… My first boutiques… Saint Tropez… New York… when I walked in they gave me a feeling of too much… too much art… I had to tone down my frenzy to be a “fashion artist”. I had to create a complete look. A smart one-colored jacket that would give the most value to my artistic, hand-painted or printed jeans and vice versa. CLASS Roberto Cavalli

I thought about creating a new brand, “una collezione di capi principalmente uniti”, a collection of garments of mainly one color with little references to my more artistic line. The collection kept the Roberto Cavalli DNA but with a sobriety of color.

Class… Class… “Classica” the new line was classica, a classic name for my new brand!

Today we opened the new showroom Roberto Cavalli CLASS in Corso Venezia in Milan. A magnificent elegant palace… CLASS…ICO!

I would like to thank the Lorenzon family to whom I entrusted the responsibility of managing this brand… from production to marketing.

This new showroom is the result of how our partnership is… FANTASTICA!

107. CLASS… CLASS… CLASSSSSSSS!

Che nome banale per una fantasia fertile come la mia… devo raccontarvi come è nata questa linea e questo marchio.

L’arte è nel mio DNA. Sono nato a Firenze ed ho respirato arte da quando sono nato! La mia moda, fin dalle mie prime creazioni, esprime il mio desiderio di fare arte! Le mie prime collezioni, le mie prime presentazioni, erano come un “vernissage”… disegni… colore…

La donna per me rappresentava una bella cornice per le mie opere… le mie prime boutique… Saint Tropez… New York… quando vi entravo mi davano un senso di troppo… troppa arte… Dovevo smorzare questa mia frenesia di essere un “artista della moda”. Dovevo creare un look completo. Una bella giacca unita avrebbe maggiormente valorizzato i miei artistici jeans dipinti a mano o stampati e viceversa. CLASS Roberto Cavalli

Ho pensato di creare un nuovo marchio, una collezione di capi principalmente uniti o con piccoli riferimenti alla mia linea più artistica. Una collezione che mantiene il DNA Roberto Cavalli ma con la sobrietà del colore.

Class… Class… Classica era la nuova linea e classico il nome del mio nuovo brand!

Oggi abbiamo inaugurato il nuovo show-room di Roberto Cavalli CLASS in Corso Venezia a Milano. Un palazzo magnifico… elegante… CLASS… ICO!

Desidero ringraziare la famiglia Lorenzon ai quali ho affidato la responsabilità della gestione di questo prestigioso marchio… dalla produzione alla commercializzazione.
