82. The crew of the “Big Boat” is waiting on deck. Their beautiful dark blue uniforms give them a certain distinction!
Only the commander, Alexander, wears a white suit, so white he could be a model for a detergent advertisement!
I choose a cabin, I want to know which one has the best TV reception, I want to see the Fiorentina soccer team at the best of their “worst”!
Of course the beautiful cabin, with the white marble bathtub, is normally used by Eva and has all of her stuff in it…
The life on the “big boat” definitely does not suit me temperamentally. I love my “bat-zodiac”, I drive it, I wash it, I take good care of it in every detail. The days go by quickly. The little things that do not work perfectly keep me busy and sometimes amuse me!
On the other hand I do not enjoy sitting on the “big boat” with the three beautiful young women crew members interrupting what I am doing to ask about my favorite champagne!
I was born a normal person and I want to die a normal person. Sometimes I tell jokes about being a “street kid”.
Dear friends, I have already told you how I enjoyed designing the “big boat” and seeing it finished in all its glory! To live on it you need the character of one who loves luxury, certainly not the sea!
The first night we went to “Rampoldi” a classic Monaco restaurant, old style Monte Carlo. The average age is above 50. It is easy to find old men with dyed hair and graying temples in the company of beautiful young Russian or Ukrainian girls. They are part of the folklore!
I like to have the first dinner at the Rampoldi, it makes me feel I am in the Principality of Monaco! It is like, when I arrive in my little apartment in Paris, the first “record” on my “record player” is always one of Charles Aznavour’s. It makes me feel Parisian!
After dinner, a tour of the casino to end in the most important casino, “The Municipal”, the one in the center of the square with the Hotel de Paris on one side and the Cafe ‘de Paris on the other, with many Ferraris, Lamborghinis and Rolls Royces all parked in front… I am convinced that they don’t have owners… they are just parked there as high-profile advertising for their manufacturers!
This is Monte Carlo, a fictitious island of wealth and tranquility!

Solo il comandante, Alessandro, indossa un completo bianco, bianchissimo, potrebbe fare pubblicità a un detersivo!
Scelgo una cabina, m’informo in quale funziona meglio il televisore, voglio vedere la Fiorentina nel meglio della sua “schifezza”!
Naturalmente la cabina armatoriale, quella bella con la vasca da bagno di marmo bianco, è normalmente usata da Eva ed è occupata da tutte le sue cose…
La vita sulla “grande Barca” decisamente non mi si addice caratterialmente. Non mi diverte stare seduto in attesa che le tre belle signorine dell’equipaggio si precipitino a chiedermi qual è il mio champagne preferito!
Amo il mio “bat-gommone”, lo guido, lo lavo, lo accudisco nei particolari. La giornata scorre sempre molto veloce. Le piccole cose che non funzionano perfettamente m’impegnano e talvolta mi divertono!
Sono nato semplice e voglio morire semplice. Talvolta per scherzare dico che sono “un ragazzo di strada”.
Cari amici, vi ho già confidato che mi ha divertito disegnare e portare a termine il progetto della “grande barca”, in tutto il suo splendore! Per viverla, bisogna avere il carattere di uno che ama il lusso, non certamente il mare!
La prima sera siamo stati da “Rampoldi”. Un classico ristorante Monegasco vecchio stile, come Montecarlo. L’età media non scende sotto i cinquanta. È facile incontrare signori anziani con i capelli tinti e le tempie brizzolate in compagnia di bellissime ragazze Russe o Ucraine, fa parte del folclore!
Mi piace passare la prima sera da Rampoldi, mi fa sentire nel Principato di Monaco! Come quando arrivo a Parigi, nel mio piccolo appartamento, il primo “disco” sul mio “giradischi” è sempre di Charles Aznavour. Mi fa sentire parigino!
Dopo cena, il giro dei casinò per finire in quello più importante, il “municipale”, quello nel centro della piazza con L’Hotel de Paris su un lato e il Caffè’ de Paris dall’altro, con tante Ferrari, Lamborghini e Rolls Royce parcheggiate davanti… sono convinto che non hanno un proprietario… sono state parcheggiate ad arte dalle case costruttrici per farsi pubblicità!
Questa è Montecarlo, una finta isola di ricchezza e tranquillità!
