37. I gave you a day off with no news from me – time to watch and relate to my fashion show on YouTube and on my website RobertoCavalli.com

Watch all the shows. I want you to understand that right now fashion is experiencing a little disorientation, it goes from boring minimalism to excess!
“In medio stat virtus,” Virtue is in the middle between the extremes of the excessively boring and the boringly excessive.

A dress should give a sense of your own beauty and a wish to communicate it.
The problem with “boring” is that leaves a woman without that sense of self-beauty and a wish to convey it.
Minimalism for girls too often leaves them frustrated with no sense of self-fulfillment and a desire to really their lives to the full.

The “Day After” began with anxiety to know the reactions of the press to my Fashion Show. My office has already left me all the newspapers in front of my door.
Well, with a good cup of coffee I start to browse the newspapers…

Not bad! I thought the headlines would go to King Armani, or he would have stomped and cut his advertising!
I can be happy, make me smile to read the articles of certain newspapers, which highlight my character as controversial and critical!

In the interviews before the Fashion Show the Journalists, knowing my polemical nature, besiege me with questions to coax a quote out of me.
I always fall for it!
Some of the journalists told me that Armani, and I personally have a great respect for him, had made a statement about a fashion show with some clothes so excessive as to be un-wearable. Armani was referring mainly to the motifs of fruit used by Dolce & Gabbana.

Well, you know, even my shows are not as soft as King Giorgio would wish.
So I responded by saying I am against the monotony in fashion. A designer uses the catwalk to show his creative capacity to make young women dream about fashion!

Then I foolishly fell into the journalist’s trap with the comment that Armani’s new Hotel looks a little like a “Psychiatric Hospital”.
I was foolish to externalize my thoughts, but the temptation arose because in New York the Armani store, which is in front of my boutique, has been christened “Psychiatric Hospital” by others because of its austerity and rigidity.
So this silly remark, made on the spur of the moment is one I never should have made!

One has to respect to be respected!

I start to pack. Lupo walks around me, crouches down and looks at me with soulful eyes as if to say: “I understand everything, you are leaving again!”

Yes Lupo it is true, I am leaving you again. I have to go to Dubai for the launch of my new fragrance. I’ll be back on Sunday.
I’ll bring you a big tasty bone. I promise!

37. Vi ho lasciato un giorno tranquilli senza mie notizie.
Vi ho lasciato il tempo di guardare e riguardare la mia sfilata su YouTube e sul mio sito RobertoCavalli.com

Guardate tutte le sfilate, desidero farvi comprendere che in questo momento la moda ha un po’ di sbandamento, si passa dal minimalismo noioso all’eccesso!

“In medio stat virtus”, la virtù sta nel mezzo, l’eccesso è anche il noioso eccessivo.
Noioso per signore senza personalità, noiose, che non hanno il desiderio di apparire femmine agli occhi dei propri uomini!

Il minimalismo è per ragazze frustrate, senza voglia di vivere.
Un abito deve darti il desiderio di mostrare, di farti sentire bella!

Il “Day after” è iniziato con l’ansia di conoscere le reazioni della stampa alla mia sfilata. Il mio ufficio mi ha lasciato tutti i quotidiani davanti alla porta di casa.
Bene, un buon caffè e possono iniziare a sfogliare i giornali…

Non male! Come immaginavo i titoli principali sono per Re Armani, altrimenti batte i piedi e gli taglia la pubblicità!

Posso essere soddisfatto. Mi fanno sorridere gli articoli di certi quotidiani che evidenziano il mio carattere polemico e critico…!

Durante le interviste prima della sfilata, I giornalisti ti assediano di domande e, conoscendo il mio carattere polemico, si divertono a provocarmi.

Io ci casco sempre! Alcuni giornalisti mi riferiscono che Armani, che io personalmente stimo molto, aveva lanciato affermazioni non simpatiche su certe sfilate eccessive e con abiti importabili. Si riferiva principalmente ai motivi di frutta utilizzati da Dolce & Gabbana…

Beh, come sapete, anche le mie sfilate non sono soft come Re Giorgio desidera. Quindi ho reagito dicendo che sono contrario alla moda monotona.
La passerella è dove un designer deve mostrare le proprie capacità creative, dove far sognare le ragazze che amano la moda!

Armani Hotel

Poi ho esageratamente e scioccamente posto l’accento sul nuovo albergo di Armani che sembra un “Ospedale Psichiatrico”!

Sono stato sciocco a esternare questo mio pensiero, ma è venuto spontaneo. Il negozio di Armani a New York si trova davanti al mio.
A causa dello stile austero e rigido è stato battezzato “Ospedale Psichiatrico”. Questa sciocca battuta mi è quindi venuta spontanea.
Non avrei dovuto!!

Devo rispettare se voglio essere rispettato!

Ho poi iniziato a preparare la valigia e quando Lupo mi vede, prima, mi gira intorno, poi si accuccia e mi guarda con gli occhi profondi, come se volesse dirmi: “ho capito tutto!”

E’ vero Lupo, ti lascio di nuovo, devo andare a Dubai fino a domenica per il lancio del mio nuovo profumo.

36.The Day After…
Forgive me if I abandoned you but you were always in my thoughts.
The show was a great event, a great success!

In retrospect, I would like to have seen it with you, with you all! I love your compliments; your judgments are a beat I hear continually inside my heart when I think about you.
Without you, I would not be anybody, you the ones who decree my success, your word of mouth has grown and expanded like wildfire!

It all started with my first show.
In the late 90’s I would not have thought it possible. I knew I had a brilliant idea that young women would really love. The idea was to highlight the forms of their bodies, at a time when fashion sought to hide them together with their femininity!
I made my first printed jeans out of a new stretch fabric that wrapped the butt and legs like leggings.

After that? I make you really discover the red carpet and the allure of creating for the biggest Stars.
Some of them, the most important, approached me. They understood that I loved the woman’s body and that I liked to accentuate sensuality.

I started to create special dresses for each of them.
Their satisfaction and joy fired up the adrenaline to create and bring forth new ideas!

Unfortunately this great satisfaction was taken away by big brands.
Jealous of my success, instead of creating beautiful and sexy dresses they have begun to influence the stylists of the most famous with attractive deals.

The Oscars have been brainwashed by those brands that have the economic means to buy the taste of the actress.
The recent Oscar night coverage was followed all over the world unlike the big after-party organized by Vanity Fair.

Many actresses have walked the red carpet wearing major brands dresses and then changed clothes to attend the various parties, which have followed the ceremony. They were sexier, more sensual, more special at the parties!

Well, my show has been very successful, I cannot describe it, I can only tell you that Naomi was wearing the last outfit for the final walk down the catwalk and she was wonderful! She was greeted with warm applause.

36.The Day After…
Mi dovete scusare se vi ho abbandonato, ma siete stati nei miei pensieri. La sfilata è stata un grande avvenimento!
A posteriori ho pensato che avrei desiderato averlo vissuto con voi, con tutti voi! Adoro i vostri complimenti, i vostri giudizi, sono un battito continuo che ascolto nel mio cuore quando vi penso.
Senza di voi, io non sarei nessuno, siete voi che avete decretato il mio successo, il passaparola l’ha fatto divenire grande, sempre più grande, si è allargato a macchia d’olio fino a sconfinare!

Tutto è iniziato con la mia prima sfilata.
Era la fine degli anni 90, non lo credevo possibile, sapevo di avere avuto un’idea geniale che sarebbe piaciuta alle giovani donne; evidenziare le forme del loro corpo, in un momento in cui la moda cercava di nasconderle insieme alla femminilità!
I miei primi jeans stampati erano realizzati in un nuovo tessuto stretch che fasciava il sedere e le gambe come dei fuseaux.

E dopo? Vi ho fatto scoprire il tappeto rosso, Il fascino di creare per le grandi star del cinema e della musica.
Alcune di loro, le più importanti, mi avvicinarono. Avevano capito che amavo il corpo della donna e che mi piaceva accentuarne la parte sensuale.

Ho incominciato a creare un abito speciale per ognuna di loro.
La loro soddisfazione e la loro gioia erano fuoco che mandava in circolo l’adrenalina di cui avevo bisogno per creare, per partorire nuove idee!

Purtroppo questa grande soddisfazione mi è stata tolta dai grandi marchi.
Gelosi del mio successo, hanno iniziato a coinvolgere gli stylists dei personaggi più famosi con allettanti offerte invece che creare abiti più belli e sexy.

Gli Oscar sono stati plagiati da quei marchi che hanno le possibilità economiche per comprare il gusto dell’attrice.
La recente serata degli Oscar è stata seguita in tutto il mondo, al contrario del gran party, organizzato da Vanity Fair, dopo la consegna delle statuette.

Tante attrici hanno sfilato sul tappeto rosso con abiti di brands importanti per poi cambiarsi d’abito e partecipare ai vari after-party che hanno seguito la premiazione. Erano più sexy, più sensuali, più speciali!

Bene, la mia sfilata ha avuto un grande successo! Non è possibile descriverla, posso solo dirvi che Naomi, che ha indossato l’ultimo abito per l’uscita finale, era meravigliosa! E’ stata accolta da un caloroso applauso.

Credo che siate già stati sul mio sito o su YouTube per seguire la sfilata dal vivo! Vi e piaciuta? Me lo farete sapere…
Desidero sapere se è stata in grado di suscitarvi emozioni…

35. The Just Cavalli Fashion Show Has Just Ended…

35. The Just Cavalli fashion show has just ended and the drum-rolls are for the Roberto Cavalli fashion show!

Which one do I love the most? It ‘s a tough question, but decidedly it’s the main line! It is the glamor, it is the fashion show where I most demonstrate my creative qualities… It is the dream!

A Fashion Show should make you dream, every woman should watch it with her mouth wide open, regardless of her physique. She should identify herself with the model’s body. Sometimes the very way a model walks along the catwalk makes her seem surreal. It’s true!

Models must not be real, they must be a part of your dreams, your desires.

I do not understand why established brands show on the catwalk the same collections that are for sale in the showrooms!
Still less, I do not understand the minimalism of other brands for women who are not in touch with their femininity or have a fear of putting it on display!
Some of these shows are created in the image of their creators.

The models are Top Models or are very well established.
Not necessarily beautiful but definitely striking, special and very professional!

Naomi Campbell - fitting

I am now in my showroom, the stylist is studying the coordination of the Fashion Show along with Eva. Within an hour the fitting will begin.
I’m trying to figure out at what hour Naomi’s time will be. It’s hard to say, every Top Model is engaged in various Fashion Shows and the fitting for the Cavalli Show is inserted between Shows.

Much of the embroidery for the evening dresses arrived at the last moment so our seamstresses are working to correct them and place them on the dresses.
The magical atmosphere that reigns in these few hours of waiting before the show is fascinating and hard to describe.

Am I satisfied? I don’t know, I am never completely so. My temperament often creates a heavy atmosphere!

Every dress appears before me worn by a model for testing and everybody looks at me and expects me to have a positive or negative reaction. Right now it’s hard for me to express enthusiasm.

I hope I reach the level of your expectations…

35. E’ appena finita la sfilata Just Cavalli e già rullano i tamburi per la sfilata Roberto Cavalli!

Quale amo di più? E’ una domanda difficile, decisamente la prima linea!
E’ il glamour, è la sfilata dove posso dimostrare le mie qualità creative… E’ il sogno!

Una sfilata deve far sognare, qualsiasi donna deve guardarla a bocca aperta, a prescindere dal proprio fisico. Deve immedesimarsi nel corpo della modella, che talvolta con la sua camminata, appare surreale.

E’ vero! Le modelle non devono essere reali, devono far parte del tuo sogno, dei tuoi desideri.

Non capisco come brands molto affermati portano in passerella le collezioni in vendita negli show rooms!
Ancora meno, non capisco il minimalismo di altri brands per donne che non amano la loro femminilità o temono di metterla in mostra!
Alcune di queste sfilate sono create a immagine di chi la crea.

Le modelle sono modelle Top o modelle molto affermate.
Non necessariamente bellissime, sicuramente particolari, speciali e molto professionali!

Naomi Campbell - fitting

Sono ora nel mio show room, lo stylist sta studiando il coordinamento della sfilata insieme ad Eva, fra un ora comincia il fitting.
Sto cercando di capire a che ora sarà il momento di Naomi, è difficile stabilirlo, ogni Top e impegnata in varie sfilate e il fitting da Cavalli viene inserito fra una sfilata e l’altra.

Molti ricami degli abiti da sera sono arrivati all’ultimo momento, le nostre sarte stanno lavorando per correggerli e posizionarli sugli abiti.
E’ affascinante e mi è difficile descrivervi l’atmosfera magica che si respira in queste ultime ore di attesa.

Se sono soddisfatto? Non lo so, completamente non lo sono mai, questo mio carattere crea spesso un’atmosfera pesante!

Ogni capo viene provato, tutti mi guardano e si aspettano da me una reazione positiva o negativa. In questo momento mi è difficile esprimere entusiasmo.

Spero di essere all’altezza delle vostre aspettative…
