Combine all these things together and there is the story of my life…
Don’t be afraid, I’m not going to bore you, I’m pretty convinced that you’ll have a great time…
I don’t consider myself such a great artist, famous enough to have a movie about my life… or important enough to show you that I too, like some great artists, needed a tormented life to find creativity and inspiration!
But there is some truth in it, great artist or not, my life was a mess!
I will continue to make you smile …
Do you understand the origins of your favorite designer?
One who loves to undress you and then dress you making you the sexiest woman in the world?
From the beginning I have entered into that niche of designers, along with all my other distinguished colleagues! Maybe someone has even questioned my passion for beautiful women, but I have always declare this passion openly.
At the beginning of my success, my great success, I spoiled the image that some fashion journalists had of fashion designers in vogue at that time, Lagerfeld… Valentino… Armani… Dolce and Gabbana… Those journalists did not know how to define me and where to place me in the fashion scene. Anna Wintour is the only one who is still wondering… “But who is this… Cavalli? Not like the others… not a homosexual… therefore not a designer…!”
I was called cowboy … fisherman … Well, there was an element of truth in that, I do love horses and I do love the sea!

I feel different from my colleagues … this is true, but not because I love women but because I believe I am less complicated than the others… My desire would be to be a friend… talk to my colleagues… exchange ideas that could be constructive and helpful for the Fashion “Made in Italy”.
My Italian colleagues don’t salute me. When we attend the various dinners and meetings organized by fashion magazines, I try to meet their eyes with a warm smile…

Voi tutti conoscete Roberto Cavalli designer, conoscete quasi tutto ciò che mi riguarda, la mia età… la mia famiglia… le origini… il nonno pittore… Firenze…
Ma per unire tutte queste cose c’è la storia della mia vita…
Non abbiate paura, non ho nessuna intenzione di annoiarvi, sono più che convinto che vi divertirete da pazzi…
Non mi considero un grande artista, così famoso da poter avere un film che mi racconta… o così importante da dimostrarvi che anche io, come certi grandi artisti, ho avuto bisogno di una vita tormentata per trovare la creatività e l’ispirazione!
Però c’è un fondo di verità, grande artista o no, la mia vita è stata un gran casino!
Voglio continuare a farvi sorridere…
Avete capito le origini del vostra stilista preferito?
Colui che ama spogliarvi e poi vestirvi creando di voi la donna più sexy del mondo?
Fin dall’inizio mi avete inserito in quella nicchia di designer, insieme a tutti gli altri miei illustri colleghi! Forse qualcuno ha anche messo in dubbio la mia passione per le belle donne, che io invece ho spesso evidenziato.
Agli inizi del mio successo, il grande successo, sciupavo ad alcuni giornalisti quell’immagine moda completamente in auge in quel momento, Lagerfeld… Valentino… Armani… Dolce e Gabbana… Quei giornalisti non sapevano dove inserirmi e come definirmi… Anna Wintour è l’unica che se lo sta ancora domandando… “Ma chi è questo Cavalli…….? Non è come gli altri… non è omosessuale e quindi non può essere un designer…! “
Sono stato definito Cow Boy… pescatore… Beh, un fondo di verità c’era, amo i cavalli e adoro il mare!

Mi sento diverso dai miei colleghi… questo è vero, ma non perché amo la “figa… strafiga” ma perché credo di essere più semplice degli altri… Il mio desiderio sarebbe quello di essere amico… parlare con i miei colleghi… scambiare idee che potrebbero essere costruttive e d’aiuto al “Made in Italy”
I miei colleghi italiani, non mi salutano. Durante le varie cene o incontri organizzati dalle testate della moda, cerco di incrociare il loro sguardo per accennare un leggero sorriso…
Questa è la prima parte, dolcemente… dolcemente… mi farò conoscere da voi, che mi amate da lontano…!
