How did you spend Ferragosto?

In Italy, Ferragosto is a holiday that is celebrated with parties, dinners and fireworks.

“Feriae Augusti” from the Latin “Rest of Augustus.” Mid-August is a holiday that dates back to the days of ancient Rome, founded by Emperor Augustus in 18 BC. It was originally the feast celebrating the end of harvest.

I’m in Greece where I am spending August in total tranquility in the fantastic setting of these islands which we remember for their long history of poets, scientists and navigators…

I can almost feel the presence of those ancient Gods who inspired the Greek culture for centuries…

The journey that took us to Greece was very interesting. We circumnavigated the southern part of Italy. The shores of our beautiful country offer unique scenery… the Mediterranean Sea is a legacy that we must respect and preserve to deliver it intact to our children, our grandchildren…

During the trip we met a couple of dolphins which accompanied us for a stretch of beautiful sea… fantastic animals… thanks to their flexibility and the power they can deliver to their tails these mammals are able to reach the incredible speed of 65 Km/h!

The Bat-Zodiac boat took us to the destination safely and quickly. Navigating it is a pleasure… a race car in the sea!

I still have two weeks of vacation before returning to create new dreams, new emotions…

308. Buon Ferragosto!

Come avete trascorso il Ferragosto?

In Italia il Ferragosto è un giorno di festa che viene celebrato con feste, pranzi e fuochi d’artificio.

“Feriae Augusti” dal latino “riposo di Augusto”. Il Ferragosto è una festa che risale ai tempi dell’antica Roma, istituita dall’imperatore Augusto nel 18 BC, era originariamente la festa che celebrava la fine dei raccolto.

Sono in Grecia e il mio Ferragosto quest’anno l’ho trascorso in totale tranquillità nella fantastica cornice di queste isole che ci tramandano una storia antica di poeti, scienziati e navigatori…

Riesco quasi a percepire la presenza di quegli antichi Dei che hanno ispirato la cultura Greca per secoli…

Il viaggio che ci ha portato in Grecia è stato molto bello, abbiamo circumnavigato la parte sud dell’Italia, le coste del nostro bel paese offrono scenari unici… il mare Mediterraneo è un patrimonio che dobbiamo rispettare e preservare per consegnarlo intatto ai nostri figli, ai nostri nipoti…

Durante il viaggio abbiamo incontrato una coppia di delfini che ci ha accompagnato per un tratto di mare… che belli… che animali fantastici… grazie alla flessibilità e alla potenza di spinta della loro coda questi mammiferi riescono a raggiungere l’incredibile velocità di 65 Km/h!

Il Bat-Gommone ci ha portato a destinazione in modo sicuro e veloce… navigare è un piacere… una macchina da corsa in mare!

La Grecia mi offre degli spunti per la mia prossima collezione estiva… i colori qui sono saturi, estivi, festosi… il blu profondo del mare che si fonde con l’azzurro del cielo e l’accecante bianco delle costruzioni…

Mi restano ancora due settimane di vacanze prima di ritornare a creare nuovi sogni, nuove emozioni…
