Roberto Cavalli Woman Fall / Winter 2013-14 Pre-Collection
The Roberto Cavalli Fall/Winter 2013-2014 pre-collection is inspired by the roots and the history of the Maison Cavalli.
The study of the city of Florence in the Renaissance period, its paintings, its colors and most of all its decorations along with Villa Cavalli itself with its rich walls and precious objects, brought to a rediscovery for the taste of true craftsmanship, inspired by the tapestries and brocades that decorate the house.
The prints recreate the appearance of the carbon sketching technique used by Renaissance masters in the early phases of the creation of frescoes and we added strong, evident colors like red and yellow.
The silhouette of this season distinguishes itself for its simple lines, fitted to the body but not overly tight, and straight at the bottom. Tube dresses with a newer and more fashionable length which arrives significantly below the knee. Dresses with a slight flair which arrives mid-thigh. The sheath dresses with the simplest shapes are extremely decorated and enriched by engineered prints with embroideries that follow the prints.
Other pieces have black embroideries applied to create a transparent effect. Lace is once again a must this season. You find it combined with the prints where it is used to at the necklines, the waist and the hemline. The strongest dresses are in black leather to add contrast. The pencil skirts are super slim and very sexy with high slits.
The jackets are characterized by structured shoulders and straight lines. Coats are very important in this collection and are either straight or fitted with animal prints on tweed.
The color palette for this season was inspired by the works of Florentine artists. From the masterpieces of Botticelli and Donatello came colors like bitter chocolate and camel, while from the artworks of Masaccio and Ghirlandaio came the saturated colors of the earth such as dark emerald, sapphire, yellow persimmon, red cranberry and mauve.
The ‘Diva bag’ underwent a careful restyling. The models, created with refined and precious materials, have been enriched in every detail making them perfect and timeless.
The new Florence shoes, within the comfortable and chunky daytime metal heel, evoke the scaled motif of the Florence bag.
The jewellery is opulent and exquisite, characterized by the snake theme, symbol of the Cavalli Maison.
