I immediately notice the only empty chair at my table, Cindy Crawford on the right and Julianne Moore on the left.
I feel embarrassed about whom to kiss first. Both are great friends. I had not seen them for over a year, maybe longer in Julianne’s case. I realize this when she mentions her children’s ages as she shows me their photos. I remember having seen them in a baby carriage and I remember the boy running round their beautiful apartment in the fashionable Meatpacking District of New York.

I first met Julianne Moore in Florence when she was shooting the movie Hannibal. I was a good friend of Ridley Scott, the director, and it was fun to become their point of leisure in Florence.
Anthony Hopkins (Hannibal) came over for morning coffee at my house after a half hour in the gym. The friendship with Julianne Moore has continued and tonight it gave me great pleasure to see her again – very charming and talented. The color of her hair and the color of her eyes are indescribable! I kissed Julianne first and her smile tells me how pleased she is to see me again!
I can’t wait to hug Cindy, the most special, the most beautiful and sexiest of all the models I’ve known in the fashion world! Cindy wear a long, close-fitting Cavalli dress, gray with silver reflections, its wide neckline is a dream offering a glimpse of her beautiful breasts that have never known the wickedness of the time!

Una larga scollatura fa sognare di intravedere i suoi meravigliosi seni che non hanno mai conosciuto la cattiveria del tempo! Vi racconterò in seguito come e dove ho conosciuto Cindy e quanto dolce e sincera è stata la nostra amicizia!
Alla sinistra di Julianne siede Stefano Tonchi, un grande italiano, diventato in America un giornalista fra i più quotati per la sua maestria e professionalità. Oggi è il direttore di W, non credo di esagerare se lo giudico uno dei mensili più importanti della moda americana. Un caro amico da molti anni e, come me, Fiorentino!
