This morning I slept in too much. Sandra got up early. She went to pick up the results of some analysis and I stayed in bed hugging two pillows and a duvet like a child who does not want to feel alone!

I went to the office at 2pm.
First meeting is with Cristiana, my daughter, who is responsible for the development and communication of the Hotels Cavalli, Cavalli Club and Coffee Cavalli all over the world.
We have many ideas and projects and great investors who believe strongly in my futuristic ideas in this area…

Do you know, or have you ever been in, my Cavalli Club in Dubai? It is a wonderful place and great fun. The one in Milan is beautiful and my idea, supported by the investors, is to open more places in other major cities.

My desire would be to open premises in Beirut, Istanbul, London, New York and Miami. I would spend all my time going from one city to another and from one Club to another! And many of you would be with me!

The other topic of the evening was to decide whether to keep the same venue for the Fashion Show on February 27 or change to some other venue. With lower costs we could invest the savings bringing in more Top Models in addition to those we already have.
I voted to keep “L’Arco della Pace”, our former venue. I find it unique and magical and I’ve no intention to abandon it!

Questa mattina ho dormito fino a tardi, troppo tardi. Sandra sì è alzata prestissimo per andare a ritirare l’esito di alcune analisi, mi sono trattenuto a letto abbracciando due cuscini e un piumino, come un bambino che non vuole sentirsi solo!

Sono andato in ufficio alle 2. Primo meeting con Cristiana, mia figlia, che si occupa dello sviluppo e della comunicazione della parte Hotels Cavalli, Cavalli Club e Caffè Cavalli in tutto il mondo.
Abbiamo tanti progetti, idee e ottimi investitori che credono fortemente nelle mie idee avveniristiche in questo settore…

Conoscete, o siete mai stati nel mio Cavalli Club di Dubai? E’ una meraviglia, enorme e divertente.
Anche il locale a Milano è bellissimo e la mia idea condivisa dai miei investitori è quella di aprirne altri in altre citta importanti.

Il mio desiderio sarebbe di aprire locali a Beirut, Istanbul, Londra, New York e Miami. Passerei tutto il mio tempo da una città all’altra e da un Club all’altro!
…e molti di voi verrebbero con me!

L’altro argomento della serata è stato quello di decidere se mantenere lo stesso posto di sempre per la sfilata donna del 27 febbraio o cambiare con qualche altro luogo a costi minori. Il risparmio investirlo su qualche altra Top Model, oltre a quelle che già abbiamo.
Ho votato per mantenere L’Arco Della Pace come nelle precedenti sfilate, lo trovo un luogo unico e magico e non me la sento di abbandonarlo!

Did you like my South Pole adventure?
I have had many more in the last two years. I have spent many hours in the skies around the world.
Three years ago, before this bloody crisis that has left us with the our asses on the ground, I had the madness to buy a plane to travel around the world… I decided that before my adventure on this earth was over I had to see what God had given us!

I will not bore you now with just my travels, I will gently reminisce, when something jogs my memory…
Our minds, our memories are like a camera, something in some unexpected moment makes you relive and return to a moment in your past!
A color, a scent, an object, some music can help you relive those special moments!

I can only say that, having seeing a large part of this world including Italy, to which I give the sceptre as super beauty queen, a country that has really struck me is Namibia.
Where is it? Namibia is located in the south west of Africa.

Now I will not tell you much, but rather leave you in suspense.
You will have to wait for something fabulous that I remember about those days I spent in that magical land!

Today I am relaxed and satisfied as my football team Fiorentina won.
It will make you smile, but often my mood depends on the outcome of my team, so you can imagine with what sympathy I see Della Valle who, besides being the owner of Tods and Hogan, bought Fiorentina a few years ago. He wanted to speculate on the affection of thousands of young fans who often went without eating to go to the game. It’s not fair!
This level of speculation by the presidents of football clubs is inopportune as it goes beyond the limits of those who still believe in the sport!

13. Vi è piaciuta la mia avventura al Polo Sud?

Vi e piaciuta la mia avventura al Polo Sud?
Ne avrei tante altre, negli ultimi due anni ho trascorso molte ore nei cieli di tutto il mondo.
Tre anni fa, prima di questo cazzo di crisi che ci ha messi con i culo per terra, avevo fatto la pazzia di comprarmi un aereo per girare il mondo…
Avevo deciso che prima che la mia avventura su questa terra finisse, dovevo vedere cosa Dio ci aveva regalato!

Non voglio da oggi annoiarvi solo con i miei viaggi, desidero parlarvene dolcemente, quando qualche cosa mi ricorderà qualche attimo…
La nostra mente, i nostri ricordi sono come una macchina fotografica, qualche cosa in qualche inaspettato momento ti fa rivivere e ritornare con il pensiero a un attimo nel tuo passato!
Un colore, un profumo, una musica, un oggetto ti può aiutare a rivivere momenti speciali!

Vi posso solo dire che, dopo aver girato una bella parte di questo mondo, oltre che all’Italia, alla quale do lo scettro come super queen di bellezza, un paese che mi ha veramente colpito è la Namibia,
Dov’è? La Namibia si trova nella parte sud ovest dell’Africa.

Adesso non voglio dirvi altro, vi lascio in suspense, dovrete attendere che qualche cosa mi ricordi quei giorni favolosi che ho trascorso in quel magico paese!

Oggi sono rilassato e soddisfatto poiché la Fiorentina ha vinto, vi farà sorridere, ma spesso il mio mood dipende dal risultato della mia squadra del cuore, per cui potete immaginare con quale simpatia vedo Della Valle, che oltre ad essere il proprietario di Tods e Hogan ha comprato qualche anno fa la Fiorentina. Voleva speculare sull’affetto di migliaia di ragazzi tifosi, che spesso non mangiano per andare allo stadio. Non e giusto! Questo comportamento dei presidenti delle squadre di calcio, o speculatori inopportuni, porta a un comportamento oltre il limite da parte di chi crede ancora nello sport!

12. My eyes hurt, I need to rest…

My eyes hurt, I need to rest. After lunch I started to edit in Photoshop the photos I took on my last trip to Antartica. Thousands of photos, those who have already seen them say they are fantastic. They say I’m good with the camera.
I’m never satisfied, myself. Everything seems trivial and I am convinced that there is a lot more to invent in the photography field!
I think that photography is the new art. I found modern art incomprehensible and too much in the hands of dealers who made the good and bad weather along with collectors who decide who to launch in the orbit of success!
A true artist with great talent but without the knowledge of the right people will never be anyone!

Sorry, I got distracted; I was talking about my trip to the South Pole, to Antarctica.
A fantastic experience! The first fifteen days of December we embarked on an icebreaker at the tip of Argentina for the crossing to Antarctica. It took us three days to get there and we spent about eight days among the glaciers.
Unfortunately the weather was not the best, no rain or snow, but the sky was too white, unable to deliver the right light for amazing color effects.
The whales accompanied us in our every move.

We traveled at night and in the mornings we used the zodiac to visit the atolls and the icebergs that rose from the water like huge sculptures…
A wonderful feeling, seals or sea lions swam under our boats, at times, put their heads out as if to say hello…
The penguin lives in communities of thousands. They do not fear the humans. Even when they are sitting on their eggs or over their babies to heat them with their mother’s feathers!
The Leopard Seals are among the most dangerous animals, a sort of big Walruses with huge fangs. They are capable of swallowing a penguin in an instant.

My camera was always pointed at everything that excited me. The reflections in the ice are incredible. The perfect white ice with the reflections of light with blue veins, sometimes turquoise.
It seems that icebergs have interior lighting that illuminate the cracks.
Huge sculptures, I was amused to find a resemblance to other forms, a horse, an elephant…
The boat worked its way through fragments of ice and penguins wandering around there.
I tried not to use gloves when using my camera, so my fingers were as cold as ice!

Life on the ship was fun, fewer than 80 passengers, of all nationalities, young and old, all with the same goal to discover something different… We made friends during lunch and dinner.
I liked to hear and tell stories. For many of them I was not known and I was pleased.
I like how they feel, a fan of a new adventure and life!

12. Mi fanno male gli occhi, ho bisogno di riposarmi…

Mi fanno male gli occhi, ho bisogno di riposarmi, ho iniziato dopo pranzo a pulire e modificare con Photoshop le foto che ho fatto nel mio ultimo viaggio in Antartica. Migliaia di foto, non male, a chi le ho già fatte vedere mi dicono che sono fantastiche, che sono bravo.
Io non sono mai soddisfatto, tutto mi sembra banale e sono convinto che nella fotografia e possibile dire a fare qualche cosa di nuovo!
Penso che la fotografia sia la nuova arte, poiché l’arte moderna la trovo incomprensibile e troppo in mano a galleristi che ne fanno il bello e cattivo tempo. Decidono loro con i collezionisti chi lanciare nell’orbita del successo!
Un vero artista con grande talento ma senza conoscenze non sarà mai nessuno!

Scusate, mi sono distratto, vi stavo parlando del mio viaggio al Polo Sud, in Antartica.
Un’esperienza fantastica! I primi quindici giorni di dicembre ci siamo imbarcati su una nave rompighiaccio alla punta estrema dell’Argentina, la traversata per Antartica dura tre giorni e la permanenza fra i ghiacciai 8 giorni circa.
Purtroppo il tempo non e stato dei migliori, niente pioggia o neve, ma il cielo era sempre troppo bianco per poterci offrire effetti di colore fantastici.
Le balene ci accompagnavano in ogni nostro spostamento.

Si viaggiava di notte e la mattina si calavano le scialuppe per visitare gli atolli o gli iceberg che si alzavano dall’acqua come enormi sculture…
Una sensazione meravigliosa, le foche o leoni marini nuotavano sotto le nostre scialuppe, a tratti, mettevano fuori la testa come per salutarci…
I pinguini vivono in comunità, a migliaia, non temono la vicinanza dell’uomo, neanche quando sono seduti sulle loro uova o sopra ai loro piccoli che si riscaldano con le penne della loro mamma!
I Leopard Seal sono tra gli animali più pericolosi, sono dei grandi Trichechi con zanne enormi e sono capaci di inghiottire un pinguino in un attimo.

La mia macchina fotografica era sempre puntata su tutto quello che mi entusiasmava, i riflessi del ghiaccio sono incredibili.
Il bianco perfetto del ghiaccio con i riflessi della luce ha delle venature blu, talvolta turchesi, sembra che gli iceberg abbiano delle luci interne che mettono in evidenza le spaccature.
Enormi sculture, mi divertiva cercare una rassomiglianza con altre forme, un cavallo, un elefante…
La scialuppa si faceva strada tra frammenti di ghiaccio mentre i pinguini ci girellavano intorno.
Cercavo di non usare i guanti per essere più libero con la macchina fotografica, le mie dita erano fredde come il ghiaccio!

La nave era divertente, poco meno di 80 passeggieri, di tutte le nazionalità, giovani e meno giovani alla scoperta di qualche cosa di diverso…
Facevamo amicizia durante il pranzo e la cena.
Mi piaceva ascoltare e raccontare, per molti di loro ero un normale sconosciuto e questo mi faceva piacere, mi piaceva sentirmi come loro, un appassionato del nuovo, dell’avventura e della vita!
