175. A Tuscan in America…

Definitely, my confidence is higher in America than in Italy… I know it is absurd. Perhaps it is because English is not my mother tongue and so I can get away with everything!
I have participated in many shows in America. One of my fondest memories is of “AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL” with Tyra Banks, in addition to the special memory of her beauty… unique… indescribable!
It was fun, Tyra paid me many compliments…
She liked to play with my deep voice and told me that I had given a different “tone” to her Show…
The director asked me if I would host a TV show of my own in the future! I cannot forget the cover of the New York Times, a whole page with my photo!
The next morning I was awakened by a thousand phone calls congratulating me! Unfortunately my joy and fame lasted only a few hours because the next day there was the attack on the twin towers. It was September 9, 2001.
America began to love me! Linking my colorful and positive character to the positivity of my collections.
The Italians of America chose me to represent Italy on the celebrations of Columbus Day…

Decisamente la mia sicurezza è superiore in America che in Italia… assurdo, forse perché in una lingua che non è la mia tutto mi è scusato !
Ho partecipato a tanti show americani, quello che ricordo con maggiore simpatia fu “AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL” di Tyra Banks, oltre al ricordo speciale per la sua bellezza … unica… indescrivibile!
Fu divertentissimo, Tyra mi fece mille complimenti…
Si divertiva a giocare con la mia voce e mi diceva che avevo dato un tono differente al suo show…
La regista mi chiese se avrei accettato in futuro di presentare un programma tutto mio! Non posso dimenticare la copertina del New York Time, una pagina intera con la mia foto!
La mattina seguente fui svegliato da mille telefonate di congratulazioni! Purtroppo la mia gioia e fama durarono poche ore poiché il giorno dopo ci fu l’attacco alle torri gemelle. Era il 9 settembre 2001.
L’America incominciò ad amarmi! Collegavano il mio carattere colorato e positivo alla positività delle mie collezioni.
Gli Italiani d’America mi scelsero in rappresentanza dell’Italia il giorno del Columbus Day…
Ma il resto ve lo racconterò domani…
