The contrast between Florence and Dubai is very strong…

I am looking out over Dubai City from the 103 floor of the Burj Khalifa. With a height of 830 meters it is the tallest building in the world and the view is amazing … you feel as though you are on a plane flying over the city…

When I think of the tallest building in Florence, it is the Brunelleschi Dome of Florence Cathedral… at 116 meters you have a commanding and painterly view over the red brick roofs of the city…. a work of art in itself. The Renaissance at its best. I feel the contrast…

Dubai is a city with an amazing architecture… here architects around the world have had the opportunity to give vent to their creativity both as to form and materials, very innovative…

Everything here is luxurious… the Burj Al Arab, one of the most luxurious hotel in the world, also known as a 7-star hotel, was built on an artificial island… here you have a sense that everything is possible…

Dubai Mall is the largest shopping center in the world and currently is hosting an event organized by Vogue Italy – the second edition of Vogue Fashion Dubai Experience #VFDE – from October 30… a three-day event entirely dedicated to fashion. Today I had the pleasure of attending a fashion show at the Dubai Mall as a spectator… it was a pleasurable and relaxing time. It has been a long time since I have had the leisure to attend a fashion show that was not my own…

Il contrasto fra Firenze e Dubai è molto forte…

Sto osservando Dubai dal 103 piano del Burj Khalifa. Con un altezza di 830 metri è l’edificio più alto del mondo e da qui la vista è incredibile… la sensazione è quella di essere su un aereo in volo sopra città…

Quando penso all’edificio più alto di Firenze, la Cupola del Brunelleschi della Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore che con i suoi 116 metri domina i tetti rosso mattone di Firenze… un’opera d’arte in sé. Un omaggio del rinascimento.

Dubai è una città con un architettura incredibile… qui gli architetti di tutto il mondo hanno avuto la possibilità di dare sfogo al loro estro creativo con forme e materiali, un’architettura molto innovativa…

Tutto è all’insegna del lusso… Burj Al Arab è Il più lussuoso albergo del mondo, conosciuto anche come l’hotel a 7 stelle, è stato costruito su di un’isola artificiale… qui hai la sensazione che tutto è possibile…

Quando ho deciso di aprire il mio primo Cavalli Club ho scelto la città di Dubai. Ho progettato il Cavalli Club di Dubai, meta di celebrità internazionali, con l’idea di offrire un locale che è veramente unico nel suo genere, un locale fashion oltre la moda…

Ogni volta che vengo a Dubai trascorro le mie serate in piacevole compagnia di amici, donne bellissime e fans al Cavalli Clun. Siete tutti invitati!

329. Thank you, ELLE, I am honoured in a way that brings me real joy…

I am in Madrid, an amazing city. Last night during a gala organized by ELLE entitled “Elle Style Awards 2014” I had the honour of receiving the coveted award for Best International Designer.

I’m touched by such recognition from ELLE. I must confess that it took me by surprise! It was a very special evening spent in the company of the beautiful Nieves Alvarez! For this special occasion she looked stunning in a Roberto Cavalli dress from the Atelier Collection… exclusively designed for her!

Madrid was the setting for this wonderful evening and, as in all cities, its night-lights made it even more fascinating, seductive and mysterious.

I felt at home. Madrid knows exactly how to cuddle and make me feel at ease… I have to come to Spain more often…

The event, perfectly organized by ELLE, was also an opportunity to meet so many cosmopolitan friends from the world of art and entertainment.

You will not believe it but I was very nervous… when the time came to go on stage to receive the award, I felt a slight trembling at the knees… but only for a moment… the warm applause set the adrenalin pumping…

Thanks Elle and thanks Madrid, I spent three fantastic days there!

If you have not visited Spain, I invite and encourage you to do so, it is a very beautiful country with beautiful people…

It’s time to re-pack my suitcase, my next destination? Dubai!

329. Grazie ELLE, sono Onorato e Lusingato…

Sono a Madrid, una città incredibile. Ieri sera durante la serata di gala organizzata da ELLE dal titolo “Elle Style Awards 2014” ho avuto l’onore di ricevere l’ambito riconoscimento come Best International Designer.

Sono lusingato di questo riconoscimento ricevuto da ELLE. Devo confessarvi che mi ha colto di sorpresa! È stata una serata molto speciale ed ero in compagnia della bellissima Nieves Alvarez! Per questa occasione speciale indossava un abito della collezione Roberto Cavalli Atelier… disegnato in esclusiva per lei!

Madrid ha fatto da cornice a questa splendida serata e, come tutte le città, le luci della notte la rendevano ancora più affascinante, seduttiva e misteriosa.

Mi sono sentito come a casa, Madrid sa esattamente come coccolarmi e farmi sentire a mio agio… devo venire più spesso in Spagna…

L’evento, organizzato da ELLE in modo perfetto, è stato anche un’occasione per incontrare tanti amici del mondo dell’arte e dello spettacolo.

Non ci crederete ma ero molto emozionato… quando è giunto il momento di salire sul palcoscenico per ricevere il premio ho percepito come un leggero tremore alle ginocchia… ma solo per un istante… i calorosi applausi hanno subito messo in circolo l’adrenalina…

Grazie ELLE e grazie Madrid, ho passato tre giorni fantastici!

Se non avete ancora visitato la Spagna vi invito a farlo, è un paese molto bello con gente fantastica…

È già ora di rifare le valige, la mia prossima destinazione? Dubai!

I am packing my suitcase, once again. This evening I am heading to Spain.

I love Spain and I love the people!

Spain is a concentrate of history, culture and amazing artists! The Spanish are people I admire very much. I admire the zest for life that is an integral part of their culture. I love their Latin passion and the unique and unmistakable way of living that they incorporate into their arts and everyday life…

The occasion of my trip to Spain will allow me to savour once again the pleasure of visiting those places so amazingly and distinctly charming.

It’s been two years but it seems like yesterday when I opened the Roberto Cavalli Boutique in Madrid… what a fantastic event!

I was invited there by ELLE to participate in a special event. But now I must leave you. In the next post I will tell you all the details…

Sto preparando le valige, questa sera parto alla volta della Spagna.

Adoro la Spagna e amo gli Spagnoli!

La Spagna è un concentrato di storia, di cultura e di artisti incredibili! Gli Spagnoli sono un popolo che ammiro molto. Ammiro la loro gioia di vivere che è parte integrante della loro cultura. Adoro quella loro passione latina, quel loro modo unico e inconfondibile di vivere che incorporano nelle arti così come nella vita di tutti i giorni…

L’occasione del mio viaggio in Spagna mi permetterà di assaporare ancora una volta il piacere di visitare quei luoghi cosi affascianti.

Sono passati già due anni ma mi sembra ieri quando ho inaugurato la Boutique Roberto Cavalli a Madrid… un evento fantastico!

Sono stato invitato in Spagna da ELLE Spagna per partecipare a un evento speciale. Ma ora devo lasciarvi. Nel prossimo post vi racconterò tutti i dettagli…
