Roberto Cavalli Pre-Collection Spring/Summer 2013

[slideshow id=42 w=730 h=1095 images=0]

The Roberto Cavalli Pre-Collection Spring/Summer 2013 is inspired by research on the history of porcelain and its contemporary applications – analyzing all the aspects and characteristics of this artistic expression has led to the creation of prints, placings, metal components and accessories, and their coordination within the collection.

The stylistic research is aimed to emphasizes the gloss and compact effect of ceramic which, as well as characterizing the collection prints, becoming the focal point of the collection.

A wonderful blue decoration on a white background is brought to life, incorporating the style of ‘Kakiemon’ Japanese, with floral and small baroque spirals, reminiscent of ancient British ceramic.

Golds, yellows, intense deep reds, rich in decorations and groups of flowers, together with more realistic scenes like small parrots are embellished by the finely ornate borders typical of ‘Limoges porcelain’, characteristic of this collection and part of the DNA of the Maison Cavalli.

The three-dimensional, almost real, flowers that decorate the dresses are borrowed from ‘Capodimont’ pottery where the dominating white lends elegance and summery freshness.
Contemporary art from Schnabel to Xiaofeng inspired us to use fragments of pottery put back together again as decoration or as sculpture with a very precise aesthetic form.

The freshness of the summer has been emphasized by the use of stripes and borders embroidered in shades of white, and its decorations with contoured punctured lace – glazed and decorated with sequins ton-sur-ton.

The lightness expressed by the use of lace of the XIX century -lightweight Chantilly with floral lacy elements embracing hens and necklines, bringing sensuality and lightness to modern slip dresses.

Corset style dresses in sheath-effect compact fabrics with highly elaborate engineering of print patterns enhance the body shape as if they were unique pieces.
Metal floral bouquets decorate and lend richness to Metallic floral bouquets decorate and give a
Richness to the little plain dresses.

The most delicate of cocktail and evening dresses with rich all-over embroidery on sheet tulle, made up of inserts of mixed broderie anglaise and thread embroidery, enriched with flowers and whirls in micro and macro enamelled sequins, all strictly white for a totally refined ‘Capodimonte’ porcelain ‘vase dress’ effect – elegant, sexy and fun.

There are two silhouettes. One is soft and opens out in big billowing frills that start from under small plastron tops. The other silhouette is small, straight and short, again like a slip, little triangle bras with slim straps attached to slightly A-shaped skirts, may with slits and some framed by embroidery like little precious dresses.

The tailored jackets are thoughtfully designed, with structured, rigorous shoulders.

The color palette takes inspiration from the world of porcelain and its decorations. English porcelain is represented by black, navy, cobalt and purple colorings.

The classic ‘Capodimonte’ porcelain is the inspiration source for the introduction of new colors such as peony and peridot into the collection. The Limoges result in colors as nude, canary, the
Cerulean and optic white.

Compact silk, georgette and crepe de chine, jersey, light cottons are the main fabrics of the collection.

The Maison Cavalli has enhanced the quality in the accessories, offering innovative styles and using precious materials such as python, hand painted or laminated with argent and soft leather, giving the collection a luxurious touch.

There are many processes: lasered skins with animal prints, applications of jewelry, studs and
Metal glazed flowers.

The accessories complete Cavalli’s ready to wear, using canvas or satin fabrics with exclusive prints of this collection – from animalier to the floral compositions or decorations of porcelain.

The colors are bright, vibrant and refined. Shoes are available in sandals, pumps, clogs,
Slingbacks, akle boots, ballerinas and boots.

Heels are presented in all heights, from flat to 130mm with plateau, and in all types: stiletto heels, bell-shaped shoes and wedges.

The uniqueness of the shoe collection are the soles embossed with python print, a signature of
The Maison.

The bag collection sees the ‘Florence’, an icon of class and style, offered in large, medium,
Small and mini sizes.

It remains in calf merino, in brighter colors, and in precious python with different leather
variations, such as karung leather.

The proposal of the ‘Diva bag’, a symbol of the Maison, appears in sizes small, large and a clutch version. It is made of goat skin in bright colors, in python or calf skin lasered as an animalier pattern or in different materials with a contrasting colour.
