199.Beirut, Aperitivo at Cavalli Caffè!

The Aperitivo is a pre-dinner cocktail that has become an Italian tradition dating back to the early 1800s. It is also a time to spend with friends before dinner, sipping a slightly alcoholic cocktail accompanied by snacks and sometimes by real starters!

The Negroni, one of the most famous aperitifs, was invented at the Caffè Giacosa in Florence. The story goes that Count Camillo Negroni, a frequent visitor of the aristocratic Caffè Giacosa, tired of the usual aperitif asked the barman Fosco Scarselli to replace the soda in the American Cocktail with a dash of gin. The fashion spread and the “usual” drink of Count Negroni became the famous Negroni aperitif that we all know today…

L’Aperitivo is an civilised everyday event for me. When I’m in Florence I love spending this time in the “parlor” of Via Tornabuoni in the company of friends at the Caffè Giacosa… constantly interrupted by fans who ask me to have a photo taken with them…

I decided to spread this pleasant custom of the Aperitivo beyond Italian boundaries starting with the APERITIVO LAUNCH PARTY at the Cavalli Cafe in Beirut – a glamorous event which brought together the most influential people of Beirut. This proved to be a wonderful event that introduced me to a fantastic world, full of interesting people and beautiful women…

New friends… new interviews… journalists and media people representing television stations came over to my table with a series of questions about my fashion, the fashion trends for the next season and… the Aperitivo!

From today, customers of Cavalli Caffè will be able to enjoy their Aperitivo every day from 5pm to 8pm. They will be able to taste the special appetizers and admire the beautiful sunset views over Beirut from the terrace of the Cavalli Caffè…

L’Aperitivo è una tradizione Italiana che risale ai primi anni del 1800, è un momento da trascorrere insieme agli amici, prima di cena, sorseggiando un cocktail leggermente alcolico accompagnato da stuzzichini e talvolta da veri e propri antipasti!

Il Negroni, uno dei più famosi Aperitivi, è stato ideato proprio al Caffè Giacosa di Firenze. La storia racconta che il conte Camillo Negroni, assiduo frequentatore dell’aristocratico Caffè Giacosa, stanco del solito aperitivo chiese al Barman Fosco Scarselli di sostituire il seltz del suo Cocktail Americano con una spruzzatina di Gin. La moda si diffuse e il “solito” aperitivo del Conte Negroni diventò il Negroni che oggi tutti noi conosciamo…

L’Aperitivo è un appuntamento quotidiano a cui sono affezionato, quando sono a Firenze amo trascorrere questo momento nel “salotto buono” di via Tornabuoni in compagnia degli amici al Caffè Giacosa… perennemente interrotto dai fan che mi chiedono una foto in loro compagnia…

Ho deciso di diffondere questa piacevole consuetudine dell’Aperitivo oltre i confini Italiani iniziando dal Cavalli Caffè di Beirut con l’APERITIVO LAUNCH PARTY.

Un evento glamour che ha riunito le persone più influenti di Beirut, un evento che mi ha introdotto in un mondo fantastico, ho conosciuto molte persone interessanti e donne bellissime…

Nuove amicizie… nuove interviste… giornalisti e televisioni si sono avvicendati al mio tavolo con una serie di domande sulla mia moda, sulle tendenze della prossima stagione e… sull’Aperitivo!

Da oggi i clienti del Cavalli Caffè potranno sorseggiare il loro Aperitivo ogni giorno dalle 17 alle 20 degustando gli speciali antipasti e ammirando lo splendido spettacolo del tramonto su Beirut dalla terrazza del Cavalli Caffè…

Sto già preparando le valige, il mio prossimo post sarà da Dubai!
