301. Navigating around the Mediterranean Sea…

The sea has always fascinated me since I was a child.

The relationship between man and the sea is something fascinating and mysterious at the same time… For centuries navigation has meant a journey into the unknown… a discovery of new worlds and civilizations…

My fondest memories are tied to sea travel… I remember when I used to spend a whole month on the boat with my children Cristiana and Tommaso… I did everything myself, I was the hub, the cook and the captain… the children enjoyed themselves as children do.

Tommaso always asked me thousands of questions… his thirst for knowledge was endless… he kept me company at the helm during our crossings and often fell asleep listening to my stories…

I am on the gorgeous Island of Sardinia, the bat-zodiac is almost ready for another summer of rediscovery the Mediterranean Sea…

Life on a boat relaxes me… it’s like living in a small apartment… with just few things, the essentials… I like to get up early in the morning and go to buy fish, fruits and vegetables at the local market…

They say I’m also a decent cook… actually my dishes are very simple but very tasty…

Living on a boat also offers the opportunity to live in close contact with nature, between the blue of the sky and the many colour variations of the Mediterranean Sea…

My first stop will be in Ibiza, the most fun island in the Mediterranean… on July 27th and 28th I will be at the Cavalli Club in Ibiza for the Grand Opening…

Il mare mi ha sempre affascinato, fin da bambino.

Il rapporto che lega l’uomo con il mare è qualcosa di affascinante e misterioso al tempo stesso… per secoli navigare è stato un viaggio verso l’ignoto… alla scoperta di civiltà e nuovi mondi…

I miei ricordi più belli sono legati ai viaggi per mare… mi ricordo quando con i miei figli Cristiana e Tommaso ci divertivamo a passare un mese intero in barca… facevo tutto io, ero mozzo, cuoco e capitano… i bambini si divertivano come solo loro sanno fare.

Tommaso mi tempestava sempre di domande… la sua sete di conoscenza era infinita… mi faceva compagnia al timone durante le nostre traversate e spesso si addormentava ascoltando i miei racconti…

In questi giorni sono nella splendida Sardegna, il bat-gommone è quasi pronto per un’altra estate alla riscoperta del Mar Mediterraneo…

La vita in barca mi rilassa… è come vivere in un piccolo appartamento… poche cose, essenziali… mi piace alzarmi presto la mattina, andare a comprare pesce, frutta e verdure al mercatino…

Dicono che sono anche un discreto cuoco… in realtà i miei piatti sono molto semplici ma molto appetitosi…

La vita in barca offre inoltre la possibilità di vivere a stretto contatto con la natura, fra il blu del cielo e le mille variazioni di colore del mare Mediterraneo…

La mia prima tappa sarà Ibiza, l’isola più vacanziera del Mediterraneo… il 27 e 28 Luglio sarò al Cavalli Club di Ibiza per l’inaugurazione ufficiale…
