134. Madrid is waiting for me!

I am leaving Las Vegas with a Virgin Airlines flight that will take me to London, the penultimate stop of my long journey.

I will be in London in nine hours. A private airplane is waiting for me to take me to Madrid for the opening of my new boutique. It is an event I have been looking forward to for a long time.

The Spanish market and especially the Latin one are very important for my fashion. They love the positivity of my colors.

The plane is moving and in a few seconds the hostess will tell me to turn off the phone, I never figured out if it is really necessary. On my helicopter, equally full of electronic instruments, I don’t feel the need to turn it off!

It was a long and hard week, Milan… New York… Panama… Los Angeles… Las Vegas…

New York – Photoshoot

New York, nothing special, I went to dinner at Cipriani, I wanted to hug my dear friend Marco Revedin. After a long meeting in my showroom I left for Panama. The son of the President, Ricardo Martinelli, sent the president’s plane to pick me up. He opened a beautiful Roberto Cavalli boutique and he wanted my presence there for the inauguration.

After the ribbon cutting, I had to take a picture with so many Panamanian ladies excited to meet me and talk with me. On those occasions I feel like a “Rock Star”. It is fun, but very tiring… a smile and a compliment to everyone… I shall be charming! Besides the designer I must also show the Italian Latin Lover who loves the beautiful ladies… It is their beauty that inspires me to design and create my sexy collections!

The evening continued with a wonderful dinner in the best restaurant in Panama with the President and his entire family. I’m sitting at the right hand of the President and the First Lady is sitting to my left. A wonderful dinner with great food… the tiredness begins to take its toll… I cannot give up and I always have to look my best…

The next morning I go to Los Angeles. It has never happened before. I have gone around half of the world in four days… far too little time, or maybe… I am getting a little too old for this!

My American PR had organized a dinner for the fifty most important ladies, my biggest fans, of course! I had to brush up my whole repertoire of compliments… including a charmer look which I had not used for a very long time… Angela Mariani, my great long time PR, enjoyed seeing the happiness of all the ladies when they met me and could finally hug me with the excuse of a photo!

It is hard to describe their excitement… the entertaining evening helped me to forget how tired I was…

Los Angeles – Sunset

Las Vegas is my next step. I was offered an opportunity to open a Cavalli Club in one of the most elegant and cool hotels…
I am very excited, the space that they showed me is special and I am already dreaming… a club with my name in Las Vegas… Fantastico!

I’m up in the sky… I try to sleep to make this nine hour flight shorter…

I close my eyes and I think of the many people who love me and admire me…

My life is a long dream!

134. Madrid mi Aspetta!

Sto partendo da Las Vegas con un volo Virgin Airlines che mi porterà a Londra, penultima tappa del mio lungo viaggio.

Arrivo a Londra fra nove ore, al mio arrivo mi attende un aereo privato per portarmi a Madrid per l’apertura della mia nuova boutique. È un evento che aspettavo da molto tempo.

Il mercato spagnolo, specialmente quello latino, sono molto importanti per la mia moda. Mi amano per la positività dei miei colori.

L’aereo si sta muovendo, fra qualche secondo la Hostess verrà a dirmi di spengere il telefono, non ho mai capito se è veramente necessario, sul mio elicottero, ugualmente pieno di strumentazione elettronica, non ne riscontro la necessità!

È stata una settimana lunga e faticosa, Milano… New York… Panama… Los Angeles… Las Vegas…

New York – Photoshoot

New York, niente di speciale, la sera sono andato a cena da Cipriani, volevo riabbracciare il mio caro amico Marco Revedin. Dopo un lungo meeting nel mio show room sono partito per Panama. Il figlio del Presidente, Ricardo Martinelli, ha mandato l’aereo presidenziale a prendermi. Ha inaugurato un bellissimo negozio Roberto Cavalli e ha desiderava la mia presenza per l’inaugurazione.

Dopo il taglio del nastro, ho dovuto fare la foto con tante signore panamensi, eccitate di vedermi e potermi parlare, in certe occasioni mi sento una “Rock Star”, è divertente, ma molto faticoso… un sorriso e un complimento per tutte… devo essere charming! Oltre al designer devo apparire anche come il latin lover italiano che ama le belle signore… è dalla loro bellezza che traggo l’ispirazione per i miei abiti sexy!

La serata è poi proseguita con una bellissima cena nel miglior ristorante di Panama in compagnia del Presidente e tutta la sua famiglia. Sono seduto alla destra del Presidente e la first lady siede alla mia sinistra. Una splendida cena con ottimi piatti… la stanchezza incominciava a farsi sentire… non posso cedere e devo sempre apparire al massimo della forma…

La mattina successiva sono in partenza per Los Angeles. Non mi era mai capitato di fare il giro di mezzo mondo in quattro giorni, decisamente troppo poco tempo, o forse… non ho più l’età!

I miei PR americani avevano organizzato una cena per le cinquanta signore più importanti, naturalmente mie grandi fans! Ho dovuto rispolverare tutto il mio repertorio di complimenti sexy… compreso uno sguardo ammaliatore che non usavo più da lunghissimo tempo… Angela Mariani, la mia brava PR da sempre, si divertiva nel vedere la felicità di tutte le signore nel conoscermi potermi finalmente abbracciare con la scusa di una foto!

Los Angeles – Sunset

Mi è difficile descrivere la loro eccitazione… la serata divertente mi aiutava a non sentire la stanchezza…

Las Vegas è stata la mia tappa del giorno dopo. Mi è stato offerto di aprire un Club Cavalli in uno degli hotel più eleganti e cool…

Sono molto eccitato, lo spazio che mi hanno mostrato è speciale e mi fa già sognare… un Club con il mio nome a Las Vegas… Fantastico!

Sono in cielo… cerco di dormire per far trascorrere più velocemente le nove ore di questo lungo volo…

Chiudo gli occhi e penso alle tante persone che mi amano e mi ammirano…

La mia vita è un lungo sogno!

Ibiza is a magnificent island with fantastic colors. There are not so many beaches but the beaches they have are suitable for children!

No one speaks of the beauty of this island, just as when commenting on a beautiful woman we often forget to emphasize her beauty by concentrating more on praising her other qualities!

I have spent three days in Ibiza… enough to feel like a fish out of water… not entirely being part of the scene…

Eva Cavalli with Goga Eva flew from Italy for the opening of Cipriani. Her great friend Goga, a very wealthy Russian lady, organized and sponsored the “big event”. Naomi, the greatest model of all time, would have liked to “appear” too and make her contribution to the evening. However, Goga is a person with her own ideas.

I’m happy for Giuseppe Cipriani who has a very wide circle of friends all of whom would like to be part of this special evening. I admire him… bravo Giuseppe!

My friendship is a true feeling. My friends are friends who love me!

I spent a lot of time in the small markets of Ibiza. Stalls selling a variety of bracelets and necklaces made with all kinds of tiny bones – of fish or other animals… I bought two bracelets for myself and some to give away to friends and family.

The old part of Ibiza is really charming. The narrow streets are lined with small restaurants whose tables spread half way across the street. There are many tourists… so that we have to make our way through with our arms… Lupo helps me… people make way for him… I feel protected!

Ibiza – Balearic Islands

For young people who wish to enjoy themselves in a spontaneous manner I recommend Formentera which offers more privacy.

Ibiza è un’isola magnifica con dei colori fantastici. Le spiagge non sono molte ma sufficienti a renderla un’isola adatta anche ai più piccoli!

Messuno parla della bellezza di questa isola, come quando si commenta una bella donna… spesso ci si dimentica della bellezza per accentuare quanto è troia!

Ci ho trascorso tre giorni, sufficienti per sentirmi un pesce fuori dall’acqua… apparire senza averne diritto!

Eva Cavalli with Goga Eva ha volato dall’Italia per l’apertura di Cipriani. La sua grande amica Goga, persona molto ricca, senza far sapere le origini delle sue ricchezze… aveva organizzato e sponsorizzato il “grande evento”. Naomi, la grande modella, si è sentita messa in seconda linea. Anche lei voleva “apparire” dando il suo contributo alla serata. Per certe persone, l’apparire è accentuato dalla cifra che spendi e per chi spendi. Ognuno si nasconde dietro la frase “Lo faccio per un amico…”. A mio parere l’amicizia di dimostra in maniera diversa!
Goga è un personaggio senza scrupoli ne sentimenti!

Naomi, è la più grande modella di tutti i tempi ma da quando vive con il suo boyfriend russo, si sente forte anche nel dimostrare la sua amicizia spendendo.

Sono felice per Giuseppe Cipriani che ha saputo distribuire tanta “amicizia” intorno alla sua persona! lo invido. Bravo Giuseppe!

La mia amicizia è un vero affetto, tanti, tantissimi conoscenti. I miei amici, sono amici che mi vogliono bene! Mi meraviglierei se uno di loro volesse dimostrarmi la sua amicizia calando dal cielo un pianoforte con famoso pianista incorporato…
Se succedesse all’apertura di un mio Club penserei che il mio “amico” ha bisogno di farsi pubblicità sfruttando il mio nome!

In tali eventi non offrirò mai la mia presenza per non apparire bisognoso di fama!

Ho trascorso molto tempo nei piccoli mercati di Ibiza. Tante bancarelle che vendono ogni genere di braccialettini e collane realizzati con ogni genere di piccoli ossicini di pesci o altri animali… ho acquistato due braccialetti per me e alcuni da regalare.

La parte vecchia di Ibiza è veramente incantevole. Le strette strade sono occupate per metà dai tavolini dei piccoli e caratteristici ristoranti. Tanti turisti… dobbiamo camminare facendoci spazio con le braccia… Lupo mi aiuta… la gente gli fa strada… mi sento protetto!

Non consiglio Ibiza ai giovani che desiderano avere un divertimento spontaneo… molto meglio Formentera!

127. Balearic… Ibiza…

Roberto Cavalli 127. Balearic… Ibiza…

Sailing across the Mediterranean was nice and quiet. We sighted the coast after six hours of sailing. The first stop was Mahon, a small Minorcan port.

The next morning we slowly skirted the island admiring its’ beauty before sailing on to Majorca…

The sea was very rough, Rosa had not yet given birth, I was concerned that the constant shaking would cause a premature birth…

Balearic Islands

Our arrival at a very nice and well organized port relaxed us… We ended the evening at a great sushi restaurant!

The next morning we left at 8 am. I headed the bow in the direction of Ibiza! I know the port and the city very well, I spent a few days there five years ago with my big boat, the one that changes color, the one that makes me look “arricchito”… the one whose design and every stage of construction gave me so much pleasure and satisfaction!

New friends from Minorca

Getting to Ibiza is fascinating… getting there in my black bat-zodiac… my only help is my passion for adventure… my enthusiasm makes me feel like a “ragazzo di mare…”

Beppe Ronco, a close friend of mine from Turin, is waiting for us at the dock mooring. It is a nice surprise… the affection of a friend sweetens life… and Beppe is a very exceptional person.

Beppe shows me the program for the evening. Ibiza offers the best to those who wants to spend an especially enjoyable evening!

Minorca

Many friends are waiting for me in a fantastic restaurant in the countryside outside Ibiza. The owner is a fan of my work and she was very excited to see me. She showed her admiration with many small special tasting dishes of Spanish cuisine. So much of everything… food… drink… laughing like kids on school holidays…

Palma de Mallorca

Of course we spent the rest of the evening at the “Pacha”… one of the most “IN” nightclubs in the world… where the most famous DJ alternates with great performances.

It was a surprise when Paolo Zampolli invited us to finish the evening at the Pacha. He had already arranged a table for us and, the table is one of the best!

Paolo knows everyone and everything… he likes to be seen… he is always with of beautiful models! He calls them “public relations”!

The music was beautiful… I could not sit still… I wanted to dance on the tables.. dancing has always been one of my dreams… dancing like a pro and being able to perform! Probably my passion for dancing is due to the fact that I love music!

I looked around… the place is not as special as they say it is. I expected to see lots of stars… many “strafighe” [beautiful women]… so many people looking at me… some asked to be photographed with me.

The lighting effects were really special, alternating the dark to colored effects lights that changed every few seconds… the music is the queen who commands and directs all these great effects!

I love to watch… the style… the habits… the clothes… I would like do it without being seen… sometimes, when I’m in a place that is not part of my world, I’m shy!

I hope I have described in full my new emotions….

127. Baleari… Ibiza…

La traversata è stata tranquilla. Abbiamo avvistato la costa dopo sei ore di navigazione. La prima tappa l’abbiamo fatta a Mahon, un piccolo porto di Minorca.

La mattina seguente abbiamo costeggiato l’isola, lentamente, per ammirarne tutta la bellezza prima di affrontare un’altra attraversata e raggiungere Majorca.

Il mare era molto mosso, Rosa non aveva ancora partorito, temevo che i continui sbattimenti potessero causarle un parto prematuro…

Balearic Islands

L’arrivo in un porto molto bello e ben organizzato ci ha rilassato… Abbiamo concluso la serata in un ottimo ristorante di sushi!

La mattina seguente partenza alle 8. La prua in direzione di Ibiza! Conosco il porto e la città, ci ho trascorso qualche giorno cinque anni fa con la mia barca grande, quella che cambia colore… quella che mi fa apparire un “arricchito”… quella che mi ha dato tanto piacere e soddisfazione nel disegnarla e seguirne tutte le fasi della costruzione!

New friends from Minorca

Arrivare ad Ibiza è affascinante… esserci arrivato con il mio bat-gommone nero con il solo aiuto della mia passione per l’avventura e del mio entusiasmo mi ha fatto sentire ancora un “ragazzo di mare”…

Beppe Ronco, un caro amico di Torino, ci stava aspettando sulla banchina. È stata una bella sorpresa! L’affetto di un amico addolcisce la vita… e Beppe è una persona particolarmente eccezionale.

Beppe mi ha esposto il programma della serata, Ibiza offre il massimo per chi desidera trascorrere una serata speciale e divertente!

Minorca

Tanti amici mi aspettavano in un ristorante fantastico, fuori Ibiza, in campagna. La proprietaria è una mia fan ed era molto eccitata di incontrarmi. Mi ha dimostrato la sua ammirazione con tanti piccoli assaggi speciali della cucina spagnola. Tanto di tutto… mangiare… bere… ridere come ragazzi in vacanza scolastica…

Naturalmente abbiamo trascorso il resto della serata al “Pacha”… una delle discoteche più IN al mondo… dove si alternano i più famosi DJ con grandi performances.

È stata una sorpresa, quando Paolo Zampolli ci ha invitato a finire la serata al Pacha. Aveva già organizzato un tavolo, conoscendo Paolo, sicuramente uno dei migliori del locale!

Paolo conosce tutti e tutto… gli piace apparire, sempre in compagnia di bellissime modelle! Lui le chiama “pubbliche relazioni”!

La musica era bellissima… non potevo stare fermo… avrei voluto ballare sui tavoli… è sempre stato uno dei miei sogni… ballare bene e poterlo dimostrare a tutti! Probabilmente la mia passione per il ballo è dovuta al fatto che adoro la musica!

Mi guardavo intorno, il locale non era poi così speciale come lo descrivono, mi aspettavo di vedere tante star… tantissime “strafighe”… niente di speciale intorno a me… tante persone che mi guardavano, alcuni di loro si sono fatti coraggio e mi hanno chiesto di farsi fotografare con me!

Gli effetti di luci erano veramente particolari, alternavano il buio completo ad effetti di luce coloratissimi che cambiavano in pochi attimi… la musica era la regina che comandava e dirigeva tutti questi fantastici effetti!

Amo guardare… lo stile… le abitudini… gli abiti… e vorrei farlo senza essere visto… talvolta, quando mi trovo in un luogo che non fa parte del mio mondo, sono timido!

Spero di avervi descritto in modo completo le mie nuove emozioni…
