150. Half a World Tour, First Stop Dubai!

Departure from Milan with Emirates Airline, Daniele Corvasce and his delightful wife Anna are with us.

Troubled departure, our camera equipment exceeds the limit!. I will stay in Dubai just two days. Tomorrow morning we shall be joined by Barbara Picciolo the CAVALLI’s architect who is taking care of our boutique.

Pragma, given the enormous success of the CAVALLI CLUB which it manages, wishes to continue to invest in our brand which is based on my personality and creativity!
They have purchased a large property in the city center and want to build a CAVALLI SQUARE… until I saw it, I did not understand what their intentions were and the significance of the name!

FANTASTIC…! I cannot fully express my enthusiasm. The property is called “Palladium”… a huge space that houses a grand theater / auditorium with two side six-storey towers.

The project will comprise six / seven restaurants around the large covered square, a spa and beauty center on the first floor and a boutique hotel with suites only – super chic!

The implementation will be a major project and very satisfying. I will need various architects, each an expert in his own field…

My friend, the distinguished architect Italo Rota, will be a great creator for the façade, with my direction to maintain the Cavalli style…

The decoration of the entire project will be conducted by me with the help of my good architects led by Barbara!

Together with Daniele and Anna we spent two beautiful sunny mornings. The jet lag starts to take its toll… I close my eyes and I imagine the CAVALLI SQUARE… it’s like a dream! A dream that will pay tribute to my creativity!

In the evening we all go to the CAVALLI CLUB and have a wonderful time celebrating Anna and Daniele’s 25 years of marriage.

More than 200 photos with my fans… I get a microphone and promise to return to Dubai after Christmas and organize an unforgettable New Year’s Eve party at the CLUB!

Tomorrow we depart for Sydney, Australia. I have designed a small collection for Target, a famous chain of department stores. In two days my creations will be on sale in all of their stores. I look forward to meeting with their press and their public!

Target has thoughtfully provided their own private plane, which will make the long journey easier and more enjoyable.

150. Mezzo Giro del Mondo, Prima Tappa Dubai!

Partenza da Milano con Emirates Airline, ci accompagnano Daniele Corvasce e la sua deliziosa moglie Anna.

Partenza movimentata, la nostra attrezzatura fotografica supera ogni limite! Mi trattengo a Dubai solo due giorni. Domani mattina mi raggiungerà Barbara Picciolo, l’architetto che cura la realizzazione di tutte le nostre boutique.

Visto l’enorme successo Pragma, la compagnia che gestisce i CAVALLI CLUB, , desidera continuare a investire sul nostro brand sulla mia personalità e creatività!
Hanno acquistato un grande immobile nel centro città e desiderano costruire un CAVALLI SQUARE… fino a quando non l’ho visto, non capivo bene quali fossero le loro intenzioni e il significato del nome!

FANTASTICO…! Non posso esprimervi il mio entusiasmo, l’immobile si chiama “Palladium”… un enorme spazio che ospitava un grande teatro / auditorium con due torri laterali di sei piani.

Il progetto comprenderà sei/sette ristoranti sulla grande piazza coperta, una SPA e Beauty Center al primo piano e un boutique Hotel composto di sole suite, super chic!

Questa realizzazione sarà un progetto importante e di grande soddisfazione. Avrò necessità di vari architetti, esperti nei diversi settori…

Il mio amico architetto Italo Rota, potrà creare la facciata, naturalmente con la mia direzione per mantenere lo stile Cavalli…

La decorazione dell’intero progetto sarà realizzata da me con l’aiuto dei miei bravi architetti diretti da Barbara!

Insieme con Daniele ed Anna abbiamo trascorso due bellissime mattinate di sole. Il jet lag incomincia a farsi sentire… socchiudo gli occhi e m’immagino il CAVALLI SQUARE come in un sogno! Un sogno che renderà omaggio alla mia creatività!

La sera tutti al CAVALLI CLUB dove abbiamo piacevolmente festeggiato i 25 anni di matrimonio di Anna e Daniele.

Ho fatto più di 200 foto con le mie fans. Mi faccio passare il microfono e prometto a tutti di ritornare a Dubai dopo Natale per trascorrere l’ultimo dell’anno al CLUB dove organizzerò una festa indimenticabile!

Domani, partenza per Sidney, Australia. Ho disegnato una piccola collezione per TARGET, l’importante catena di grandi magazzini. Fra due giorni le mie creazioni saranno in vendita in tutti i loro negozi e incontrerò con la stampa e il pubblico!

Target mi ha gentilmente messo a disposizione un loro aereo privato, il lungo viaggio sarà più facile e confortevole.

Ci sentiamo domani, un bacino!

After an excellent lunch at Robin’s favorite restaurant we went to visit the college where he spends most of his days – magnificent!

The college is located in a large red brick building in the center of one of the most beautiful parks in London. There is a small lake with some boats that silently wander with young lovers… lots of ducks of various sizes and colors enliven the natural harmony that surrounds the famous Regent’s College!

We visit the library. Although it is Saturday, many young people are immersed in their studies. I refrain from asking questions! Then we visit the coffee shop where Robin takes his first cup of coffee in the morning before starting his lessons… one of his classrooms… I’m excited… it is comprehensible… it is the life of my “bambino” in the big city that is London… maybe… he is already a man!

I like to assimilate the tone of his voice as he describes his habits and the places that are part of his college life!

Regent's College The Omar birthday dinner was fun, I was in great shape and I entertained them all. When I want I can be a good comedian!

In addition to Omar, Robin had invited two friends, two sisters from Florence. Lisa, 21 years studied in Moscow until a year ago and has now moved to London. She began to design a line of sneakers with great success. Her sister, Jessica, attended the American School in Florence with Robin and now she attends her first year of college in London.

Two very nice and beautiful young ladies! David was another friend who was invited. He is the famous former Juventus player who retired a few years ago but is still very much missed by the Juventus fans.

The other friend was Boris, the younger brother of the wife of Mr. Abramovich the Russian tycoon, one of the richest men in the world and known by everyone as the owner of the Chelsea Football Club.

We ended the evening at the Playboy Club. We had a lot of fun, I taught Robin and his friends how to play Black Jack. The croupier was a beautiful girl dressed as a bunny. WE WON! Not much, but we came out winners, very rare but possible!

We returned to the beautiful apartment, I noticed the joy in Robin’s eyes… a beautiful day with “BABBO!” *

149. Ho Trascorso una Giornata Magnifica con Robert…

Dopo un ottimo pranzo nel ristorante preferito di Robin, siamo andati a visitare l’università dove trascorre la maggior parte delle sue giornate, meravigliosa!

L’università è situata in un grande edificio in mattoni rossi, nel centro di uno dei parchi più belli di Londra. In un piccolo lago alcune barchette vagano silenziosamente con coppie di giovani innamorati… tantissime anatre di varie grandezze e colori animano tutta l’armonia della natura che circonda questa famosa Regent’s University!

Visitiamo la biblioteca, pur essendo sabato, tanti ragazzi sono immersi nello studio, mi trattengo nel far domande! Il bar dove Robin prende il suo primo caffè prima di iniziare le lezioni… una delle aule che frequenta… sono emozionato… è comprensibile… è la vita del mio “bambino” nella grande Londra… forse… è già un uomo!

Mi piace assimilare il tono della sua voce mentre mi descrive le sue abitudini e i luoghi della sua vita universitaria!

Regent's College La cena di compleanno di Omar è stata divertitissima, ero in grande forma e ho cercato d far divertire tutti… quando m’impegno, posso essere un bravo attore comico!

Oltre ad Omar, Robin aveva invitato due amiche, due sorelle di Firenze, Lisa, 21 anni ha studiato a Mosca fino a un anno fa e adesso si e trasferita a Londra. Ha iniziato a disegnare una linea di sneakers con molto successo. La sorella, Jessica ha frequentato a Firenze la scuola americana con Robin e adesso frequenta il primo anno di università a Londra.

Due ragazze molto simpatiche, oltre ad essere molto belle. David, il famoso giocatore della Juventus, ritirato da qualche anno ma ancora molto rimpianto dai tifosi juventini.

L’altro amico era Boris, fratello minore della moglie di Abramovic, il grande magnate russo, uno degli uomini più ricchi al mondo, proprietario del Chelsea Football Club.

Abbiamo terminato la serata al Playboy Club. È stato molto divertente, ho insegnato a Robin e agli altri amici a giocare al Black Jack. La croupier era una bella ragazza vestita da coniglietta. ABBIAMO VINTO! Poco, ma siamo usciti vincitori, molto raro ma possibile!

Siamo rientrati nel bell’appartamento e ho notato negli occhi di Robin tanta gioia… una bella giornata con il BABBO!

148. I’m in London with Robert…

Robin has struggled to find an apartment he wanted, just a few meters from my boutique on Sloane Street in London.

I had to help him with it. I did not listen to my principles, “not to help children too much…” but Robin is a student in his first year in college and he is a good guy… maybe he deserves a little help!

I was in NY. I left a day earlier and, instead of returning immediately to Florence, I arranged to stop in London to spend two days with Robin. I want to finally see what he has chosen and eventually to meet his friends!

A car is waiting for me at the airport. I have not seen Robin, my little big gentle giant, for several weeks! He is waiting for me at the door, perhaps he is anxious to see me and excited to show me his new apartment!

Robin was right to try so hard to find this place… it is really delightful… my little scream of admiration makes him happy. He is telling me that he decorated it himself, without any help! Everything is perfect… clean… everything is in the right place!

He has so much to tell me, even though we talk every day on the phone. He is not entirely convinced about the direction he has chosen at the college. He seeks my advice…

Robin is taking a course in Business at Regent’s College. I always admired his taciturn but imaginative character. This side of his character reminds me of an eighteen-year-old Roberto Cavalli who feared the future, with little self-confidence. I took refuge in my thoughts and art was my outlet!

Robin has to follow his instincts. It is difficult for a father to advise … His life is long, there is plenty of time for it to find the truth that lurks inside him! What he is doing is not a waste of time. Life is a wonderful container of many experiences!

Robin Cavalli When I asked him where he is taking me for dinner and if he had organized the evening to include some friends, I find out that it is the Omar’s birthday, his best friend.

Robin made a round of phone calls to gather as many friends as possible to celebrate Omar’s birthday.

I called the Director of CIPRIANI to book a table and I ordered a cake with twenty-three candles with the words “Happy Birthday Omar.”

Birthday at Cipriani - London There was a lot of joy in Robin’s face. I was happy to be near him and to be a “friend” among his friends!

I leave the rest of the description of this beautiful day with “il mio grande bambino” for tomorrow…

148. Sono a Londra con Robert…

Robin ha lottato per avere l’appartamento che desiderava, a pochi metri dal mio negozio e quindi… centralissimo!

Ho dovuto cedere, ho dovuto non ascoltare i miei principi di “non concedere troppo ai figli…” ma Robin è al primo anno di università, è un bravo ragazzo, forse se lo merita!

Ero a NY, ho cercato di liberarmi un giorno prima e invece di rientrare subito a Firenze mi sono organizzato per fermarmi a Londra e trascorrere due giorni con Robin. Volevo finalmente vedere questa casa speciale e conoscere i suoi amici, se avrà voglia di presentarmeli!

Un’auto mi aspetta all’aeroporto. Non vedo Robin da diverse settimane, il mio piccolo grande gigante buono! Mi aspetta sulla porta, forse anche lui è ansioso di vedermi ed emozionato di mostrarmi il suo nuovo appartamento!

Robin aveva ragione ad insistere tanto… è veramente delizioso… il mio urletto di ammirazione lo rende felice.
Mi ripete con la voce mozzata che lo aveva decorato da solo, senza aiuti! Tutto è perfetto… pulito… tutto minuziosamente al suo posto!

Ha tante cose da raccontarmi, anche se parliamo tutti i giorni al telefono. Non è completamente convinto della direzione che ha scelto all’università. Ci tiene ad avere un mio consiglio…

Robin sta frequentando la facoltà di Business alla Regent University. Ho sempre ammirato il suo carattere taciturno ma estroso. Questo lato del suo carattere mi ricorda il Roberto Cavalli diciottenne che temeva il futuro, con poca fiducia in se stesso. Mi rifugiavo nei miei pensieri e l’arte era il mio sfogo!

Robin deve seguire il suo istinto. È difficile per un padre consigliare… la sua vita è lunga, ha tanto tempo per poter esprimere la verità che cova dentro di se! Tutto ciò che sta facendo non è tempo perso. La vita è un meraviglioso contenitore di tante esperienze!

Robin Cavalli Quando gli ho chiesto dove mi avrebbe portato a cena e se aveva organizzato la serata con qualche amico e scopro che era il compleanno di Omar, il suo migliore amico.

È stato difficile convincerlo ad organizzare una cena per festeggiare Omar. Sarei stato felice di aiutarlo, convinco Robin a fare un giro di telefonate per cercar di raggruppare più amici possibili.

Telefono al direttore di CIPRIANI per prenotare il tavolo e ordino una torta con ventitré candeline con la scritta “Happy Birthday Omar”.

Birthday at Cipriani - London Ho visto tanta gioia nel volto di Robin. Anche io ero felice di essere vicino a lui e poter essere un “amico” fra i suoi amici!

Lascio a domani il seguito di questa bellissima giornata con “il mio grande bambino”…
