It is a very long trip. I tried to sleep but it was not easy…
Sydney is just so far away, is a big city like many others, nothing special, no history. Australians? Should eat less… I found them all overweight!
I spent the second day with journalists. The first appointment was at a press conference organized by Target, the great store chain that invited me to promote the capsule collection I designed for the young people here who love Cavalli but cannot yet afford the couture line!
It was a very interesting press conference. I was pleasantly surprised and delighted to find that in Australia they know so much about my fashion and me!
After the press conference individual journalists interviewed me. I tried to be brilliant, answering their questions in a way that would be interesting for them. Massimo and Nadia, my good PR people in Milan, took good care of every single detail…
The next morning I attended a ribbon cutting ceremony to officially open the space dedicated to Cavalli in Target’s department stores! On my arrival hundreds of anxious ladies were already in front of the store waiting to meet me and buy what they had always wanted…
A film crew was shooting the show while journalists asked me questions. My voice was completely drowned out by the screams of my fans! I’m having a great time… it is like in a movie!
After the ribbon cutting and the official opening, the ladies rushed to buy clothes… filling large bags without even trying on the clothes!
An amazing scene that was repeated in all Target stores across Australia…

Viaggio lungo, lunghissimo. Ho cercato di prendere sonno ma non è stato facile…
Sidney è solo tanto lontana, per il resto è una grande città come tante altre, niente di speciale, senza storia. Gli australiani? Dovrebbero mangiare meno… li ho trovati tutti sovrappeso!
Ho trascorso il secondo giorno con i giornalisti, il primo appuntamento è la press conference organizzata da Target, la grande catena che mi ha invitato per la promozione della piccola collezione che ho disegnato per i giovani che amano Cavalli e che non si possono permettere di spendere tanto!
È stata una press conference molto interessante. Mi ha piacevolmente sorpreso costatare che anche in Australia conoscono tanto di me e della mia moda!
Terminata la press conferenze mi sono intrattenuto con i singoli giornalisti per le interviste. Ho cercato di fare il brillantissimo, raccontando sempre le stesse cose… Massimo e Nadia, i miei bravi PR di Milano, hanno preparato e curato tutto nei minimi dettagli…
La mattina seguente cerimonia per il taglio del nastro e inaugurazione dello spazio Cavalli nei grandi magazzini Target! Al mio arrivo ho trovato ad attendermi centinaia di ragazze… ansiose di vedermi e in attesa di poter comprare ciò che avevano sempre desiderato…
Una troupe televisiva riprende questo spettacolo mentre i giornalisti mi fanno le domande, la mia voce è però completamente coperta dalle urla delle mie fans! Mi sto divertendo molto… come in un film!
Dopo il taglio del nastro e l’apertura ufficiale, le ragazze si sono precipitate sui vestiti… riempendo delle grandi buste senza nemmeno provare gli abiti!
Un delirio, una scena che si ripete in tutti i negozi Target nelle maggiori città australiane…

The Omar birthday dinner was fun, I was in great shape and I entertained them all. When I want I can be a good comedian!
We ended the evening at the Playboy Club. We had a lot of fun, I taught Robin and his friends how to play Black Jack. The croupier was a beautiful girl dressed as a bunny. WE WON! Not much, but we came out winners, very rare but possible!
