The Hotel des Pêcheurs, the only hotel on the island, is ideal for a honeymoon… Each suite rest gently on the smooth rocks of the island… The restaurant is excellent, even if the manager feels rather important…

The only flaw is that it is not possible to dine outside. Dinner is served in a large hall which does not do it full justice… however, within walking distance is a beautiful terrace overlooking the sea… a sight to dream about… I’m just sipping champagne in the company of a good Italian singer who makes the evening even more romantic with songs of my youth…

Today we are leaving the island. Rachele, Joseph and the girls accompany us to the dock and follow us with their eyes until we become small, very small…

I spent only three days on the island… memorable days…! The girls, Lupo and I played together in the Sea. Maria Eva just called and ask me to return to the island… she already misses me…! I think I’m a good GRANDFATHER, it is a role I perform far better than I did as a FATHER… I was too caught up in the frenzy of “success” and I neglected wonderful moments that surely would have completed my life…!

In the hotel lobby I meet a truly special person… Paolo Bonolis with his beautiful wife Sonia. They have escaped to Cavallo in search of an ideal… a tranquil place in which to celebrate their tenth wedding anniversary.

I met Paolo in the course of several television shows and a simple professional acquaintance has nicely transformed into a beautiful friendship…! I have been fascinated by his intellect and culture. He is a major TV star… Paolo is certainly the “numero uno”. He is a person whom I respect very much and, although exceptional, his great television performances do not capture the full extent of his talents…

While I was splashing around in the emerald waters of one of the many beaches of Cavallo I noticed, half-hidden by a big black hat, the sweet beauty of Paris Hilton… her sexy, slender body was exquisitely shown to advantage in a black swimsuit… one piece… but able to highlight her beautiful silhouette! When I approached her she did not show much surprise at seeing me on an island so small and away from the centers of gossip… “CIAO DARLING…” she whispered with her soft voice and introduced me to the handsome young Frenchman who was with her…

I am leaving the island… Cavallo disappears over the horizon…

124. Credo Che la Bellezza di Cavallo Meriti Due Post!

L’Hotel des Pêcheurs, l’unico dell’isola, è l’ideale per un Honeymoon… Ogni suite si appoggia sulle rocce levigate dell’isola… il ristorante è ottimo, anche se il direttore si sente troppo importante…

L’unica pecca è che non è possibile cenare all’aperto. La cena viene servita in un grande salone che non rende giustizia alla categoria dell’hotel… ma a pochi passi di distanza c’è la meravigliosa terrazza sul mare che offre uno spettacolo da sogno… sto sorseggiando un ottimo champagne in compagnia di un bravo cantante italiano che rende la serata ancora più romantica con le canzoni della mia gioventù…

Stiamo lasciando l’isola, Rachele, Joseph e le bambine ci hanno accompagnato al pontile seguendoci con lo sguardo fino a quando siamo diventati piccini, piccini…

Ho trascorso solo tre giorni sull’isola, sono stati giorni memorabili…! Ho giocato al mare con le bambine e Lupo. Maria Eva mi ha chiamato per chiedermi di tornare, sente la già la mia mancanza…! Credo di essere un buon NONNO, è un ruolo che svolgo sicuramente meglio rispetto a quello di BABBO… allora ero troppo preso dalla frenesia del “successo” ed ho trascurato momenti meravigliosi che avrebbero sicuramente completato la mia vita…!

Ho ritrovato, nella hall dell’hotel, una persona veramente speciale… Paolo Bonolis in compagnia della bellissima moglie Sonia. Si sono rifugiati a Cavallo alla ricerca della tranquillità ideale per celebrare il decimo anniversario di matrimonio.

Ho conosciuto Paolo nel corso di vari incontri televisivi e una semplice conoscenza professionale si è simpaticamente trasformata in una bella amicizia…! Ho avuto modo di ammirare e farmi affascinare dall’intelligenza e dalla cultura di una grande star della tv… Paolo è certamente il numero uno. È una persona che stimo molto e, benché eccezionali, le sue grandi capacità televisive non sono sufficienti per apprezzare a pieno il suo talento…

Mentre sguazzavo nelle acque smeraldo di una delle tante spiagge di Cavallo, seminascosta da un grande cappello nero è apparsa la dolce bellezza di Paris Hilton… il suo sexy ed esile corpo era fasciato da un costume nero… un pezzo… ma capace di mettere in evidenza le sua splendida siluette! Quando mi sono avvicinato non ha dimostrato molta meraviglia nell’incontrarmi in una isola così piccola e fuori dai centri del gossip… “CIAO DARLING…” mi ha sussurrato con la sua voce soft presentandomi il bel ragazzo francese che l’accompagnava…

Mi sto allontanando… Cavallo scompare all’orizzonte…

Cari amici, dovete scusarmi se non sarò in grado di aggiornarvi costantemente durante le mie vacanze…

If you do not believe me you should check it out for yourself… a natural paradise… a large swimming pool with salt water… the color of the water is indescribable… tour agencies try to attract customers by evoking the colors of the Caribbean islands or the islands west of Africa…

Cavallo has no rivals! It is Corsican… French territory… but full of Italians… At first it was difficult… about fifteen years ago, with the early development and the attempt to create a new small Costa Smeralda…

The Corsicans did not always react well to these new developments and there were reprisals against some of the buildings occasionally involving the use of explosives! Perhaps they were right… part of the mistake was in not using local labor. These difficulties lasted several years…

The construction of the buildings was entrusted to Italian companies, often clumsy and ruthless, which did not always have an easy life and some came to a very bad end!

Then the situation became even more complicated… the first beautiful villas built on the island were owned by Italian politicians or middlemen, many of whom where involved in the Italian “Clean Hands anti-corruption investigations” in the late eighties.

Cavallo almost became a refuge for many but its special beauty turned the focus away from these people to the island’s God-given beauty…!

At that time I had a small boat with two cabins and I was persuaded to buy a place… a moorage in the small boat harbor under construction… the port was never completed, but those few square meters of sea that I bought made me happy…

Each year I spent the month of August with my family camped in the small boat dock… that wooden dock, resting on a strip of sea between the cliffs smoothed by water and wind, has witnessed my children growing up… Daniele and Robin learned to swim in these natural paradise pools! Rachele matured into a fine young lady in the beauty of this natural setting…

Cavallo Island

Cavallo is an island of freedom… only small electric cars are allowed on the island… young people can run around with many friends of the same age… and, even if they shouldn’t, use these golf carts to get around the island… driving them as if they were Ferrari’s!

An island that makes you forget everyday problems, away from television and politics… Cavallo is a magical island!

Se non ci credete, dovete andarci… un paradiso naturale! Una grande piscina con acqua salata… il colore dell’acqua è indescrivibile… le agenzie turistiche cercano di attirare i clienti evocando i colori caraibici o quelli delle isole a ovest dell’Africa…

Cavallo non ha rivali! È francese solo geograficamente, gli italiani se ne sono impossessati a dispetto dei Corsi… all’inizio è stato difficile… circa quindici anni fa, con le prime costruzioni e il tentativo di dare forma a una nuova piccola Costa Smeralda…

I Corsi non hanno reagito molto bene e ci sono state rappresaglie con uso di esplosivi per distruggere le nuove costruzioni! Forse, avevano ragione, lo sbaglio è stato quello di non usare manodopera locale… queste azioni di rappresaglia sono durate diversi anni…

La realizzazione dei fabbricati era stata affidata a imprese italiane, maldestre e senza scrupoli… non hanno avuto vita facile e sono finite tutte in disgrazia!

In seguito la situazione è diventata ancora più complicata… le prime bellissime ville costruite sull’isola erano di proprietà di politici o faccendieri italiani, quasi tutti coinvolti nelle indagini di Mani Pulite alla fine degli anni ottanta.

Cavallo divenne quasi un rifugio per molti, la bellezza speciale dell’isola distoglie lo sguardo da chi la abita per concentrarne l’attenzione sulle bellezze naturali che Dio ci offre…!

A quei tempi avevo una piccola barca con due cabine e mi sono lasciato convincere ad acquistare un posto barca nel piccolo porto in costruzione… il porto non è mai stato completato ma quei pochi metri quadrati di mare che avevo comprato mi rendevano felice…

Ogni anno ho trascorso il mese di agosto con la famiglia, accampati nella piccola barca… quella banchina in legno posata su quel lembo di mare, fra gli scogli levigati dalle acque e dai venti, ha visto crescere i miei bambini… Daniele e Robin hanno imparato a nuotare in queste paradisiache piscine naturali! Rachele è cresciuta ed è diventata una signorina fra le bellezze naturali di quest’isola…

Cavallo è l’isola della libertà, puoi lasciare i tuoi ragazzi scorrazzare per l’isola con tanti amici della stessa età… sull’isola possono circolare soltanto piccole auto elettriche che i ragazzi, anche se non dovrebbero, usano per scorrazzare in lungo e in largo… guidano queste macchinine da golf come se fossero delle Ferrari!

Un’isola che ti fa dimenticare i problemi quotidiani, lontano da televisione e politica… Cavallo è un’isola magica!

Roberto Cavalli 122. July was a special month…

We have talked about August, but the best month to celebrate the summer is definitely July. The problem is that, in Italy, August is the month when you take your holidays.

All the factories, from the largest to the smallest, close during the middle two weeks of August. Now, because of the crisis, many companies are closing for the entire month.
In big cities many shops and restaurants usually displayed the classic sign “CLOSED FOR THE HOLIDAYS”. But this year you will see fewer signs since even the smaller income earned in August is too important and useful for the businesses to lose.

As always in these situations, those who suffer most are those who can least afford to do so.

I would just emphasize a thought, not useful to anyone, so you will know me better… This government of wealthy academics should devise a better, fairer tax code and a better system of public accounting that will let us know, as a country, how we stand financially and how we can raise the tax revenues more fairly to meet our obligations. We are not afraid of hard work. We just want a better chance to raise our families…

Better to change this subject… let’s talk instead about the just finished month of July. I passed this time traveling between Monte Carlo and Saint Tropez, which amused me and gave me new, young, interesting and special friends…

…Zac Efron, with whom I am constantly exchanging text messages, and I have formed a friendship, based on mutual respect, which is destined to last a long time!

The greatest satisfaction was when, last night, I closed my office door not to reopen it again for three weeks …
I wanted to finish the drawings and models in the Just Cavalli and Roberto Cavalli lines for upcoming shows in late September. I am afraid I did not finish my work on time so the last two nights have been spent designing and creating…

Now I can enjoy the quiet and happy holidays… sun… sea… music … new adventures await me …

Roberto Cavalli 122. Luglio è Stato un Mese Speciale…

Vi ho parlato di agosto ma il mese più estivo dell’anno è decisamente luglio. Il problema è che da sempre, in Italia, il mese in cui si va in vacanza è agosto.

Tutte le fabbriche dalle più grandi alle piccole chiudono durante le due settimane centrali di agosto. In questo momento, a causa della crisi, molte industrie chiudono per tutto il mese.
Nelle grandi città molti negozi e ristoranti espongono il classico cartello “CHIUSO PER FERIE”. Quest’anno di questi cartelli se ne vedono molti meno, anche quei pochi incassi del mese di agosto sono troppo utili e importanti.

Come sempre, in queste situazioni, chi soffre maggiormente è chi ha poco o niente.

Desidero solo esprimere un mio pensiero, non utile a nessuno, giusto per darvi modo di conoscermi più a fondo… Questo governo di ricchi professori dovrebbe elaborare un sistema fiscale migliore e più equo, migliorare il sistema della contabilità pubblica in modo da permetterci di conoscere sempre la situazione finanziaria del paese e come poter aumentare le entrate fiscali in modo equo e tale da soddisfare i nostri obblighi. Non abbiamo paura di lavorare, vogliamo solo avere migliori possibilità di crescita per le nostre famiglie…

Meglio cambiare argomento e parlare di questo luglio appena terminato, trascorso fra Montecarlo e Saint Tropez, che mi ha divertito e regalato nuovi amici… giovani… simpatici e speciali…

…Zac Efron, con cui ci scambiamo continuamente messaggi, è nata una amicizia basata sulla stima reciproca e destinata a durare nel tempo!

Volevo terminare i disegni e i modelli delle linee Just Cavalli e Roberto Cavalli per le prossime sfilate di fine settembre. Temevo di non terminare in tempo e ho trascorso le ultime due notti disegnando e creando…

Adesso posso godermi le tanto attese vacanze tranquillo e soddisfatto… sole… mare… musica e nuove avventure mi aspettano…
