Just Cavalli Fall/Winter 2013-2014

“I am very pleased with my design… my colours… and my ideas!

My muse was a young woman who became part of my collection…
From the moment I saw her walking along the river which passes through the city of Thimphu… the capital of Bhutan, a small country located at 3000 meters above sea level, at the slopes of the Himalayas… a country characterized by the richness of its traditions and images, which combine nature and religion…
His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen, a young couple as delicate and charming as the lifestyle of this fascinating country invited me, giving me the opportunity to discover this country, the only one in the world to measure its richness according to the value of happiness …

I could not return to my world without making an effort to convey the emotions I felt… I was awed by their purity and the beauty of their colors!”

The Just Cavalli Fall/Winter 2013-2014 collection describes an exotic and exciting journey which appears to hover between ancient and contemporary times: the lightness of the fabrics and the magnificence of the traditional Asian decorative elements are embedded in the prints and highlighted in the textiles.

The silk jumpsuits’ flowing silhouette enhances the femininity of the female body by gliding almost imperceptibly along the skin, and super-slim pants are combined with matching or contrasting printed outerwear.
The dresses are short and sensual, paired with deconstructed jackets; or long and fitted, completed by fur micro vests.

The knitwear plays with volumes, often in dégradé jacquard animal print, occasionally embellished by quilted silk sleeves, or high-neck and sleeveless in soft angora wool.

The prints, which represent the most distinctive and iconic Cavalli element, are inspired by the traditional Bhutanese culture and garments.
Opulent metallic sequin embroideries are placed on pants and jackets and are also used to decorate the denim.

The colours are vibrant and intense: blue, orange, yellow, red and jade.

Boots with a red cylinder heel are created in python leather and jaguar printed pony or in leather combined with goatskin.
Velvet open-toe ankle-boots, with stylized flame print soles and the same red heel, are decorated with small buttons.

The wraparound style acetate sunglasses come in bright colors with mirrored lenses.
Some outfits present the refined necklaces created with silk threads and jade ornaments, worn by the Bhutanese aristocracy and called “tears of the gods”.

186. I have to thank God for giving me a second youth…

Roberto Cavalli @ work186. I have to thank God for giving me a second youth…

What keeps me up? The electricity I feel when I’m on the eve of a fashion show, when the adrenaline goes up to one thousand… that’s what keeps me up… but then after a while I became too tired… I have to say “No… I have to stop!”

But if I were to stop I would miss the kind of emotion that now makes me feel young again.

I have to thank God for having given me a second youth… I am telling you the truth… sometimes I thought, “What a pity! If all this success had happened when I was thirty, I would have enjoyed it so much! ”

But now I think that, by the grace of God, success came relatively late, otherwise, at my age, life would be unbearably boring!

183. Sad… Disappointed… But I Had Fun…

Roberto Cavalli183. Sad… Disappointed… But I Had Fun…

I went to Turin to watch the soccer match between Juventus and Fiorentina.

It was an adventure to get the tickets… I was with Sandra and two dear friends from Turin, who do not cheer for Juventus.

It was also an adventure to get to the stadium and mostly it was difficult to get out… but all of this is part of the folklore and endurance of a fan!

The stadium is beautiful!  You can see very well from any location!

I managed to find four great seats thanks to Andrea Agnelli.  Before the match I met many friends from Florence in the beautiful bar-restaurant.  The most authoritative, no doubt, is Matteo Renzi, the mayor of Florence, who was sporting a bright purple scarf around his neck – purple is the color of our team.  I was delighted to see Sandro Fratini, the only Florentine who would have been able to become the President of Fiorentina!

During the first skirmishes between supporters I felt very uncomfortable in my seat, I wanted to be with the Fiorentina fans who were segregated – as though in a punishment corner of that great stadium.  But everyone could hear their cheering!

Stemma_Ufficiale_ACF_FiorentinaIf I can tell you a confidence, very personal, I HOPED!   Fiorentina is a team well set and beautifully managed.  However, in recent days we have come to understand that the unlucky ‘13 from the current year (2013) may not bode well.  We, as big fans and dreamers, will not stop dreaming.

Juventus, right now, is a really strong team while Fiorentina has only a wonderful midfield!

I was hoping for reinforcement from the negotiations in January, but our President has given us a good ice cream treat that we can enjoy only after April.  We hope that with the first heat he will not melt!

You know the final score… you have seen the game and so there is nothing left but to keep dreaming!

FORZA VIOLA!

tifosi-violaRoberto Cavalli183. Triste… Deluso…

FORZA VIOLA!

I LOVE YOU
