Like many of you I use an iPhone too. I find it brilliant for the quality of its photos and videos. I always carry my iPhone with me… every special moment… every funny picture… I am always ready to take a shot.
Often I like to browse the images that I have stored in my iPhone and relive them along with my memories…
I delete the least interesting and the most beautiful remain, ready to make me smile and relive my past!
I’m on the plane from London to Madrid… under me there is a sea of clouds, like cotton… sometimes I am tempted to take a picture… it is useless… the result is monotonous… without emotion…
The view extends to infinity… gives you the sensation of control over what you see…
The photograph is limited to an immobile space!
With my iPhone I try to relive a moment of the last days… the pictures I took during this long journey… I go further… I like to review some spark of my holiday on my bat-zodiac… the birth of my little puppies… a nice Sunday with all my grandchildren in the pool… some TV interviews… there is a bit of everything!

Come molti di voi uso anch’io un iPhone. Lo trovo geniale per la qualità delle foto e dei filmati. Lo porto sempre con me… ogni momento speciale… ogni immagine divertente… sono lì pronto a scattare.
Spesso per passare il tempo riguardo i tanti momenti che ho memorizzato nel mio iPhone e li rivivo con i miei ricordi…
Cancello i meno interessanti e i più belli sono lì, pronti a farmi sorridere e a rivivere il mio passato!
Sono in aereo… da Londra a Madrid… sotto di me un mare di nuvole che sembrano bambagia… talvolta sono preso dalla tentazione di scattare una foto… è inutile, il risultato è monotono… senza emozione…
Lo sguardo spazia nell’infinito e ti offre la sensazione di dominio di ciò che vedi…
La fotografia si limita a uno spazio immobile!
Con il mio iPhone cerco di rivivere qualche attimo degli ultimi giorni… le foto che ho scattato durante questo lungo viaggio…
Vado oltre, mi piace rivedere qualche sprazzo delle mie vacanze in gommone… la nascita dei miei piccoli canini… una bella domenica con tutti i miei nipotini in piscina… qualche intervista televisiva… c’è un po’ di tutto!

Madrid is the last stop of my long journey, eight days around the world!
I quickly dropped the luggage at the hotel and I am on my way to my new boutique for the final touches before the official opening tomorrow.
I designed this boutique along with my architects and this is the first time that I see it completed… beautiful… bellissima!
I’m happy, Madrid is the capital of fashion for the Latin world including South America, and every fashion house is well represented here in Madrid. During these three days in Madrid I realized how much I am loved and admired!
A little time to get to know all the staff… change some dresses on the mannequins and I am on my way to Ramses, the beautiful restaurant designed by Philippe Starck.
They’re waiting for me for a photo shoot for ¡HOLA!, the most important weekly magazine of the Latin countries. They will publish twenty pages for the opening event of my new boutique in Madrid. I must appear in perfect shape and not to show fatigue. Before leaving the hotel I had a little sun tanning makeup… I look great!
I gained confidence… I am almost an actor! I enjoy being in front of a camera. I remember my insecurity many, many years ago!
The restaurant is being prepared for the next day’s big party. Madrid is abuzz with great expectations! I am still considered to be the big party designer since my parties in Porto Cervo and the incredible event in Paris to celebrate my forty years in the fashion world!

Just a quick pause to freshen-up… a beautiful red Porsche is waiting for me to take me to the dinner of Nuria Alvarez, the beautiful model and now the wife of the president of Real Madrid.
Eva is waiting for me in the car… she is beautiful and elegant… I do not feel at her level… My adrenaline starts to act… I cannot show my fatigue… only a few hours ago I was flying from Los
Angeles…
The house is indescribable, with a beautiful park and with in the center an ancient tree. A fine dinner… great guests… including the Spanish Minister of Justice.
The ladies, happy and excited to meet me, are wearing Cavalli dresses, very elegant. Eva is fully aware of being the most beautiful and the most special! Fernando, the President of Real Madrid, the greatest team in the world, shows me his cellar that holds the most special wines in the world… French… South American… Australian… Spanish… and some of the most exquisite Italian wines, including the pride of my son Tommaso… the Cavalli wine, certainly among the ten best Italian wines!
A special evening, my big bed seems very special to me… when I am lying… without thinking about anything…
Only a great need to dream!

Madrid è l’ultima tappa del mio lungo viaggio, otto giorni in giro per mezzo mondo!
Dopo avere sistemato i bagagli in hotel, molto alla rinfusa, corro alla mia nuova boutique per dare gli ultimi ritocchi prima dell’apertura ufficiale di domani.
Ho progettato questa boutique insieme ai miei architetti ma è la prima volta che la vedo realizzata… bella… bellissima!
Sono contento, Madrid è la capitale della moda nel mondo latino, sud americano, ogni maison è ben rappresentata. In questi tre giorni a Madrid mi sono reso conto di essere molto amato e ammirato!
Giusto il tempo di conoscere tutto lo Staff… cambio qualche abito ai manichini e corro al Ramses, il bellissimo locale disegnato da Philippe Starck.
Mi stanno aspettando per un servizio fotografico per ¡HOLA!, il più importante settimanale dei paesi latini, che ha dedicato venti pagine per l’evento dell’apertura della boutique Roberto Cavalli a Madrid. Devo apparire in perfetta forma e non far trasparire la stanchezza. Prima di uscire dall’hotel mi sono fatto un po’ di trucco abbronzante… sono quasi figo!
Ho acquisito una vera sicurezza, sono quasi un attore! Mi diverte essere davanti a una macchina da presa. Mi ricordo bene la mia insicurezza di mille anni fa!
Il locale è in allestimento per la grande festa del giorno dopo. Madrid è in fermento per la grande attesa! Sono ancora considerato il designer dei mega party, dai tempi di Porto Cervo e dell’incredibile evento di Parigi per festeggiare i miei quaranta anni nel mondo della moda!

II tempo di fare “pipi” e uscire, una bellissima Porsche rossa, che mi è stata messa a disposizione, mi aspetta per portarmi alla cena di Nuria Alvarez, la bellissima modella, oggi moglie del presidente del Real Madrid.
Eva mi aspetta in auto… bellissima ed elegantissima… non mi sento al suo livello… la mia adrenalina incomincia ad agire… non posso mostrare la mia stanchezza… soltanto poche ore fa ero in aereo… in arrivo da Los Angeles…
Una casa indescrivibile, un meraviglioso parco con al centro un albero secolare. Una cena raffinatissima, come la compagnia di tutti gli invitati. Tra gli ospiti anche il ministro della giustizia spagnolo.
Le signore, molto felici ed emozionate di conoscermi, sfoggiano abiti Cavalli. Sono molto eleganti. Eva è pienamente cosciente di essere la più bella e la più speciale! Fernando, il presidente del Real Madrid, il più grande team al mondo, mi mostra la sua cantina che custodisce i vini più speciali al mondo… francesi… sudamericani… australiani… naturalmente spagnoli… qualche vino italiano, i più prelibati. Non poteva mancare l’orgoglio di mio figlio Tommaso… il vino Cavalli, sicuramente fra i dieci migliori vini italiani!
Una serata speciale, ma il mio lettone mi è apparso specialissimo… quando mi ci sono adagiato… senza pensare a niente…
Solo un gran bisogno di sognare!

I am leaving Las Vegas with a Virgin Airlines flight that will take me to London, the penultimate stop of my long journey.
I will be in London in nine hours. A private airplane is waiting for me to take me to Madrid for the opening of my new boutique. It is an event I have been looking forward to for a long time.
The Spanish market and especially the Latin one are very important for my fashion. They love the positivity of my colors.
The plane is moving and in a few seconds the hostess will tell me to turn off the phone, I never figured out if it is really necessary. On my helicopter, equally full of electronic instruments, I don’t feel the need to turn it off!
It was a long and hard week, Milan… New York… Panama… Los Angeles… Las Vegas…
New York – Photoshoot
New York, nothing special, I went to dinner at Cipriani, I wanted to hug my dear friend Marco Revedin. After a long meeting in my showroom I left for Panama. The son of the President, Ricardo Martinelli, sent the president’s plane to pick me up. He opened a beautiful Roberto Cavalli boutique and he wanted my presence there for the inauguration.
After the ribbon cutting, I had to take a picture with so many Panamanian ladies excited to meet me and talk with me. On those occasions I feel like a “Rock Star”. It is fun, but very tiring… a smile and a compliment to everyone… I shall be charming! Besides the designer I must also show the Italian Latin Lover who loves the beautiful ladies… It is their beauty that inspires me to design and create my sexy collections!
The evening continued with a wonderful dinner in the best restaurant in Panama with the President and his entire family. I’m sitting at the right hand of the President and the First Lady is sitting to my left. A wonderful dinner with great food… the tiredness begins to take its toll… I cannot give up and I always have to look my best…

The next morning I go to Los Angeles. It has never happened before. I have gone around half of the world in four days… far too little time, or maybe… I am getting a little too old for this!
My American PR had organized a dinner for the fifty most important ladies, my biggest fans, of course! I had to brush up my whole repertoire of compliments… including a charmer look which I had not used for a very long time… Angela Mariani, my great long time PR, enjoyed seeing the happiness of all the ladies when they met me and could finally hug me with the excuse of a photo!
It is hard to describe their excitement… the entertaining evening helped me to forget how tired I was…
Los Angeles – Sunset
Las Vegas is my next step. I was offered an opportunity to open a Cavalli Club in one of the most elegant and cool hotels…
I am very excited, the space that they showed me is special and I am already dreaming… a club with my name in Las Vegas… Fantastico!
I’m up in the sky… I try to sleep to make this nine hour flight shorter…
I close my eyes and I think of the many people who love me and admire me…

134. Madrid mi Aspetta!
Sto partendo da Las Vegas con un volo Virgin Airlines che mi porterà a Londra, penultima tappa del mio lungo viaggio.
Arrivo a Londra fra nove ore, al mio arrivo mi attende un aereo privato per portarmi a Madrid per l’apertura della mia nuova boutique. È un evento che aspettavo da molto tempo.
Il mercato spagnolo, specialmente quello latino, sono molto importanti per la mia moda. Mi amano per la positività dei miei colori.
L’aereo si sta muovendo, fra qualche secondo la Hostess verrà a dirmi di spengere il telefono, non ho mai capito se è veramente necessario, sul mio elicottero, ugualmente pieno di strumentazione elettronica, non ne riscontro la necessità!
È stata una settimana lunga e faticosa, Milano… New York… Panama… Los Angeles… Las Vegas…
New York – Photoshoot
New York, niente di speciale, la sera sono andato a cena da Cipriani, volevo riabbracciare il mio caro amico Marco Revedin. Dopo un lungo meeting nel mio show room sono partito per Panama. Il figlio del Presidente, Ricardo Martinelli, ha mandato l’aereo presidenziale a prendermi. Ha inaugurato un bellissimo negozio Roberto Cavalli e ha desiderava la mia presenza per l’inaugurazione.
Dopo il taglio del nastro, ho dovuto fare la foto con tante signore panamensi, eccitate di vedermi e potermi parlare, in certe occasioni mi sento una “Rock Star”, è divertente, ma molto faticoso… un sorriso e un complimento per tutte… devo essere charming! Oltre al designer devo apparire anche come il latin lover italiano che ama le belle signore… è dalla loro bellezza che traggo l’ispirazione per i miei abiti sexy!
La serata è poi proseguita con una bellissima cena nel miglior ristorante di Panama in compagnia del Presidente e tutta la sua famiglia. Sono seduto alla destra del Presidente e la first lady siede alla mia sinistra. Una splendida cena con ottimi piatti… la stanchezza incominciava a farsi sentire… non posso cedere e devo sempre apparire al massimo della forma…

La mattina successiva sono in partenza per Los Angeles. Non mi era mai capitato di fare il giro di mezzo mondo in quattro giorni, decisamente troppo poco tempo, o forse… non ho più l’età!
I miei PR americani avevano organizzato una cena per le cinquanta signore più importanti, naturalmente mie grandi fans! Ho dovuto rispolverare tutto il mio repertorio di complimenti sexy… compreso uno sguardo ammaliatore che non usavo più da lunghissimo tempo… Angela Mariani, la mia brava PR da sempre, si divertiva nel vedere la felicità di tutte le signore nel conoscermi potermi finalmente abbracciare con la scusa di una foto!

Mi è difficile descrivere la loro eccitazione… la serata divertente mi aiutava a non sentire la stanchezza…
Las Vegas è stata la mia tappa del giorno dopo. Mi è stato offerto di aprire un Club Cavalli in uno degli hotel più eleganti e cool…
Sono molto eccitato, lo spazio che mi hanno mostrato è speciale e mi fa già sognare… un Club con il mio nome a Las Vegas… Fantastico!
Sono in cielo… cerco di dormire per far trascorrere più velocemente le nove ore di questo lungo volo…
Chiudo gli occhi e penso alle tante persone che mi amano e mi ammirano…
