130. Balearic… Formentera!

I managed to get a berth in the small harbor of Formentera. We left Ibiza with a great desire to visit this island.

I had been there five years ago, with my big boat. We were at anchor. I knew only the emerald green water in a place called “THE TWO SEAS”. The water there is very shallow and it is fun to walk from one island to another.

I left Ibiza because I want to see again the extraordinary color of the water here… at sunset the beaches are home to hundreds of young people… sitting on the sand… playing their music …often at full volume… someone, more organized, brings a bottle of wine to share with the others!

I like this magic atmosphere and feel at ease in the simplicity and spontaneity of it… I blend with the young crowd, hoping that the dusk is my accomplices in disguising my apparent age… inside I feel young like them… with the same tastes and the same hopes!

Formentera Island

This same evening I am invited for dinner by a close friend, Vincenzo Novari, a great entrepreneur – full of great ideas and so much energy that transmits to those fortunate enough to know him. His girlfriend, Daniela, was Miss Italy a few years ago, her beauty since then has increased. Today she is a beautiful woman!

We have dinner in a very special and romantic restaurant in one of the many beaches of Formentera. A pleasant evening, all the ingredients were perfect… guests of a charming and simple island… a delightful restaurant… delicious fish… dear friends… a mutual feeling of respect and sympathy… the best!

We stay in Formentera only for two days, but we leave our hearts there!
I promise myself that I shall return there soon. Formentera is an island that offers the pleasure of simplicity!

Hello everyone… I have already turned on the engine of my bat-zodiac and we are ready for a new adventure!

We are on the way back to Italy, but first I would like to admire the beauty of the Costa Brava!

130. Baleari… Formentera!

Sono riuscito ad ottenere un posto barca nel piccolo porto di Formentera. Siamo partiti da Ibiza con tanta voglia di visitare quest’isola.

C’ero già stato cinque anni fa, con la mia barca grande. Eravamo in rada, conoscevo solamente il colore verde smeraldo dell’acqua, in un punto chiamato “I DUE MARI”. L’acqua e bassissima, è divertente camminare da un’isola all’altra.

Quando sono partito da Ibiza desideravo rivedere il colore straordinario di quell’acqua… delle spiagge che al tramonto ospitano centinaia di ragazzi… seduti sulla sabbia… un po’ di musica al massimo volume… qualcuno più organizzato ha portato una bottiglia di vino che divide con gli altri!

Mi piace questa magica atmosfera e mi sento a mio agio nella semplicità e spontaneità. Mi confondo tra le persone sperando che l’imbrunire sia mio complice nel mascherare la mia età apparente… dentro mi sento un ragazzo come loro… con gli stessi gusti e le stesse speranze!

La stessa sera sono stato invitato a cena da un caro amico, Vincenzo Novari, un grande imprenditore, pieno di grandi idee e tanta energia che trasmette a chi ha la fortuna di conoscerlo. La sua compagna, Daniela, è stata miss Italia pochi anni fa, la sua bellezza da allora si è accentuata. Oggi è una donna bellissima!

Abbiamo cenato in un ristorante molto speciale e romantico, su una delle tante spiagge di Formentera. Una serata piacevolissima, tutti gli ingredienti erano perfetti… ospiti di un’isola affascinante e semplice… un ristorante delizioso… pesce squisito… cari amici che ti dimostrano la loro stima e simpatia… il massimo!

Siamo rimasti a Formentera solo due giorni, ma ci abbiamo lasciato il cuore! Mi sono ripromesso di tornarci presto. Formentera è un’isola che ti offre il piacere della semplicità!

Siamo sulla via del rientro in Italia, ma prima desidero ammirare le bellezze della Costa Brava!

Ibiza is a magnificent island with fantastic colors. There are not so many beaches but the beaches they have are suitable for children!

No one speaks of the beauty of this island, just as when commenting on a beautiful woman we often forget to emphasize her beauty by concentrating more on praising her other qualities!

I have spent three days in Ibiza… enough to feel like a fish out of water… not entirely being part of the scene…

Eva Cavalli with Goga Eva flew from Italy for the opening of Cipriani. Her great friend Goga, a very wealthy Russian lady, organized and sponsored the “big event”. Naomi, the greatest model of all time, would have liked to “appear” too and make her contribution to the evening. However, Goga is a person with her own ideas.

I’m happy for Giuseppe Cipriani who has a very wide circle of friends all of whom would like to be part of this special evening. I admire him… bravo Giuseppe!

My friendship is a true feeling. My friends are friends who love me!

I spent a lot of time in the small markets of Ibiza. Stalls selling a variety of bracelets and necklaces made with all kinds of tiny bones – of fish or other animals… I bought two bracelets for myself and some to give away to friends and family.

The old part of Ibiza is really charming. The narrow streets are lined with small restaurants whose tables spread half way across the street. There are many tourists… so that we have to make our way through with our arms… Lupo helps me… people make way for him… I feel protected!

For young people who wish to enjoy themselves in a spontaneous manner I recommend Formentera which offers more privacy.

Ibiza è un’isola magnifica con dei colori fantastici. Le spiagge non sono molte ma sufficienti a renderla un’isola adatta anche ai più piccoli!

Messuno parla della bellezza di questa isola, come quando si commenta una bella donna… spesso ci si dimentica della bellezza per accentuare quanto è troia!

Ci ho trascorso tre giorni, sufficienti per sentirmi un pesce fuori dall’acqua… apparire senza averne diritto!

Eva Cavalli with Goga Eva ha volato dall’Italia per l’apertura di Cipriani. La sua grande amica Goga, persona molto ricca, senza far sapere le origini delle sue ricchezze… aveva organizzato e sponsorizzato il “grande evento”. Naomi, la grande modella, si è sentita messa in seconda linea. Anche lei voleva “apparire” dando il suo contributo alla serata. Per certe persone, l’apparire è accentuato dalla cifra che spendi e per chi spendi. Ognuno si nasconde dietro la frase “Lo faccio per un amico…”. A mio parere l’amicizia di dimostra in maniera diversa!
Goga è un personaggio senza scrupoli ne sentimenti!

Naomi, è la più grande modella di tutti i tempi ma da quando vive con il suo boyfriend russo, si sente forte anche nel dimostrare la sua amicizia spendendo.

Sono felice per Giuseppe Cipriani che ha saputo distribuire tanta “amicizia” intorno alla sua persona! lo invido. Bravo Giuseppe!

La mia amicizia è un vero affetto, tanti, tantissimi conoscenti. I miei amici, sono amici che mi vogliono bene! Mi meraviglierei se uno di loro volesse dimostrarmi la sua amicizia calando dal cielo un pianoforte con famoso pianista incorporato…
Se succedesse all’apertura di un mio Club penserei che il mio “amico” ha bisogno di farsi pubblicità sfruttando il mio nome!

In tali eventi non offrirò mai la mia presenza per non apparire bisognoso di fama!

Ho trascorso molto tempo nei piccoli mercati di Ibiza. Tante bancarelle che vendono ogni genere di braccialettini e collane realizzati con ogni genere di piccoli ossicini di pesci o altri animali… ho acquistato due braccialetti per me e alcuni da regalare.

La parte vecchia di Ibiza è veramente incantevole. Le strette strade sono occupate per metà dai tavolini dei piccoli e caratteristici ristoranti. Tanti turisti… dobbiamo camminare facendoci spazio con le braccia… Lupo mi aiuta… la gente gli fa strada… mi sento protetto!

Non consiglio Ibiza ai giovani che desiderano avere un divertimento spontaneo… molto meglio Formentera!

Life on Ibiza is chaotic and special… what a pity! Such a beautiful island… spoiled by a frenzied confusion of night and day!

You cannot go to dinner before midnight… sipping the “aperitivo” at nine… dinner ends at 2 am… almost the right time to go clubbing! The discos themselves are no different from those that exist in other parts of the world…maybe the DJ’s there are what makes the difference.

I wish to express my opinion on the DJs, of course without naming names. The two or three most famous DJs, those most loved by the young, are always playing the same music and all the others DJs repeat the same songs… I know them all, personally, and they are extremely nice!

Perhaps, at first, everyone had his own style, but now they are all the same… copying each other… the only difference is the club in which they perform or, as the younger ones say, they “play”. For me to play… means to play a traditional instrument!

Ibiza is beautiful but with skyrocketing prices… it is invaded by Russians who spend very easily… I believe that in Russia it is very easy for some people to make money!

Ibiza is a vacation spot for people who spend eleven months a year behind a desk… oppressed by problems… people who want to get away from family problems… young people looking for easy romance and adventures… Ibiza may not be the right place to look for longer-term relationships…

If you love nature holidays, in which to recharge your batteries… to find new friends… new interests… if you are fond of life… if you want to dream and listen to what is within you… Italy is the most beautiful place in the world.

Our islands are special! They are a wonderful gift from God! Each section of the Italian coast offers a different landscape… from the north to the far south!

Fifty per cent of tourists in Ibiza are Italians, among them some rich. The new Cipriani is a sophisticated restaurant, establishing itself on an island that used to thrive on folklore! Its customers, mainly Italians, go there for the fine dining and to be seen… “I am in Ibiza too!”

As I write this post I’m asking myself so many questions… maybe I exaggerate in my judgments… maybe it is time for me to get away from this round of fun, gossip, appearances and get back to my roots!

Perhaps we are all guilty of dreaming to participate in a life which, when we achieve it, find that we had not fully appreciated what we had in the first place.

La vita di Ibiza è caotica e speciale… che peccato! Un’isola così bella sciupata da questa frenesia di confondere la notte con il giorno!

Non è possibile andare a cena prima di mezzanotte… l’aperitivo si sorseggia alle nove… la cena finisce alle due, l’ora quasi giusta per andare in discoteca! Le discoteche non sono poi così diverse da quelle che esistono nelle altre parti del mondo, forse sono i DJ a farne la differenza.

Desidero esprimere la mia opinione sui DJ, naturalmente senza fare nomi. I due o tre DJ più famosi, quelli più amati dai ragazzi mettono tutti la stessa musica, quella di moda. Tutti i DJ ripetono le stesse canzoni… li conosco tutti benissimo, personalmente, e sono veramente simpatici!

Forse, all’inizio, ognuno aveva il proprio stile, ma adesso sono tutti uguali… si copiano l’un l’altro e quindi l’unica differenza rimane la discoteca in cui si esibiscono, o come direbbero i ragazzi più giovani, dove “suonano”. Per me suonare significa… suonare uno strumento!

Ibiza è bellissima ma i prezzi sono alle stelle, è invasa dai russi che spendono con molta facilità… credo che in Russia, per alcune persone, i guadagni siano troppo facili!

Ibiza è un luogo di vacanze per persone che trascorrono undici mesi all’anno dietro ad una scrivania… oppressi dai problemi… persone che desiderano evadere dai problemi familiari… giovani alla ricerca di facili avventure romantiche… Ibiza non è il posto giusto dove cercare relazioni a lungo termine…

Se amate la natura e volete delle vacanze dove ricaricare le batterie… trovare nuovi amici… nuovi interessi… se siete appassionati della vita… e se volete sognare e ascoltare ciò che è dentro di voi… l’Italia è il paese più bello del mondo.

Le nostre isole sono speciali! Sono un meraviglioso dono di Dio! Ogni tratto della costa italiana offre un paesaggio diverso… dal nord all’estremo sud!

Il cinquanta per cento dei turisti a Ibiza sono italiani, tra di loro alcuni ricchi. Il nuovo ristorante di Cipriani è un locale sofisticato, non adatto ad un’isola che vive di folclore! I suoi clienti, principalmente italiani, sono alla ricerca di una cucina raffinata, ma anche di un locale dove possono mettersi in mostra come a voler dire… “anche io sono ad Ibiza!”

Mentre scrivo questo post mi pongo tante domande… forse esagero nei miei giudizi… forse per me è il momento di uscire da questo mondo di divertimento, pettegolezzi, apparizioni e tornare alle mie radici!

Forse siamo tutti colpevoli nel sognare di far parte di un modo di vivere che, una volta raggiunto, ci fa scoprire di non aver apprezzato a pieno quello che ci siamo lasciati alle spalle.

Domani continuerò, desidero farvi partecipi dei miei pensieri…
