17. Here I am, again…

Here I am, again. Even if today I have not much to tell you…
Do not think that I am bored or that I am a boring person, what I am saying is that I don’t have exciting things to tell you today…
You know, I have a special affection for you!

Last night I was in a very good restaurant in Florence, at a private party organized by some friends of my daughter Rachel.
Unfortunately the nightlife in Florence it is not usually so exciting, but I enjoyed last night. The food was very good, Nobu style, a less monotonous Japanese, I believe the chef worked at Nobu.
Then, around midnight, music, music and music.

At first I just liked to watch people dancing, but then I got involved and I joined the rhythm. Lupo was watching from under the table, like a child who does not approve father’s folly… After a while he crouched into a long sleep without being disturbed by the music!

The only problem was the wine, I have not yet told you that I am semi teetotaler, perhaps it is better to say that I do not like strong alcohol. I prefer champagne and red wine, the good ones!
Last night we had a red wine from Piedmont, considered among the best. I was mulling the evening when I remembered to have a couple bottles of red Cavalli wine in the car!

I don’t want to advertise, I do not need that, but I want to tell you about my special red wine, a creation of Tommaso, the second of my children.
After graduation, Tommy expressed the desire to breed the racehorses I own for several years.
Tommy decided to move into the beautiful countryside house we have at Panzano in Chianti and devote his life entirely to horses.
It is then that I discovered that love and passion are the most important elements to succeed in what you do!

The farm, “Degli Dei” (that’s the name) with only few brood mare, has given us very good racehorses and a lot of fun.
The acquaintance of one of the best Italian winemakers turned on the passion for wine in Tommaso and the desire to experiment with new varieties. The wait was long but the good results have arrived! The small production makes this wine even more special to us. Tommaso devoted his life to this!

Now the horses are jealous and not longer champions!

Returning to the dinner…
The two bottles of my wine are disappeared in a few minutes at the expense of good wines from Piedmont who lorded over the tables!

Fiorentina have won and so now we breathe a sigh of relief.
The fear of a recession in B series has faded away.

I just finished preparing my bags and tomorrow I am leaving for NEW YORK!
My dear friends, tomorrow I will write my first adventures from the plane.

Eccomi qui, ancora con voi, anche se oggi non ho tantissimo da dirvi…
Non pensate che io sia una persona annoiata e noiosa, direi che oggi non ho cose particolarmente eccitanti da raccontarvi…
Lo sapete che ho un affetto speciale per voi!

Ieri sera sono stato in un ristorante a Firenze molto giusto ad una festa privata organizzata da amici di mia figlia Rachele.
La vita notturna fiorentina purtroppo non e delle migliori, ma, mi sono divertito tanto. Il cibo era molto buono, stile Nobu, un giapponese meno monotono, il cuoco credo sia un ex di Nobu.
Verso mezzanotte, musica, musica e musica.

All’inizio mi piaceva vedere ballare, ma dopo mi ci sono scatenato anch’io. Lupo mi guardava da sotto il tavolo, come un bambino che non ammette le follie del babbo… Dopo poco si e accucciato in un lungo sonno senza che la musica lo disturbasse!

L’unico problema è stato il vino, non vi ho ancora detto che sono semi astemio, forse è meglio dire che non amo gli alcolici forti.
Preferisco lo champagne e principalmente i vini rossi, di quelli buoni!
Ieri sera mi hanno portato un vino rosso piemontese, considerato fra i migliori, mi stava sciupando la serata quando mi sono ricordato di avere un vino rosso Cavalli in macchina!

Non ve ne parlo per farmi pubblicità, non ne ho bisogno, ma solo per parlarvi del mio rosso speciale, una creazione di Tommaso, il secondo dei miei figli.
Dopo gli studi, Tommy espresse il desiderio di allevare i cavalli da corsa, ovvero, migliorare la scuderia di cavalli che avevo già da vari anni. Ritirarsi in campagna, nella bella casa che abbiamo a Panzano nel Chianti e dedicare la sua vita interamente ai cavalli. Da quel momento ho scoperto che l’amore e la passione sono gli elementi più importanti per avere successo in ciò che fai!

L’allevamento “Degli Dei” (questo è il nome) composto da poche fattrici, ha dato ottimi cavalli da corsa e ci ha fatto divertire molto. La conoscenza con uno dei migliori enologhi italiani ha poi acceso in Tommaso la passione per il vino e la voglia di sperimentare nuovi vitigni. L’attesa è stata lunga ma i buoni risultati sono arrivati! La piccola produzione rende ancora più speciale questo vino e Tommaso ci sta dedicando la sua vita!

I cavalli sono un po’ gelosi e negli ultimi anni non sono più campioni come prima!

Ritornando alla mia cena di ieri sera…
Le due bottiglie che avevo in macchina sono sparite in pochi minuti a scapito dei buoni vini piemontesi che spadroneggiavano sui tavoli!

La Fiorentina ha vinto e noi tifosi incominciamo a tirare un sospiro di sollievo.
Il timore di una recessione in serie B incomincia ad allontanarsi.

Ho appena finito di preparare i miei bagagli, domani NEW YORK!
Miei cari amici, domani vi scriverò le mie prime avventure dall’aereo.
